Aldrin Ledger

its been 2 months- we found out carl and lily were having a baby boy and i was having a god son. i haven't seen fayre- that day i texted her so she can save my number and after that we texted often. we were still hung on that date though

dinner, i meant dinner

we couldn't meet up as fayre had exams and after that she had to go home to her family who lived in Alabama and i was busy with the gang attacks

yes they were still at it and we still haven't stopped them. i was furious now and decided to take things in my hand. soon after i started looking over the operation- they stopped. i wasn't stupid enough to think they were scared off. they were just laying low for a while.

i picked up my cup of coffee and waited for carl to call me about some news. he had been really busy as he was also looking for a job outside the gang. he was really pressured right now and i knew that, i tried to cut him some slack but i couldn't find a right time for it.

"sir, here's the list of attacks and all the damage caused" i nodded at carl and finally had a good look at him. he had bags under his eyes. he had them before- especially when him and lily broke up but those went away when he was married but they are back

i groan internally as i realized i had to make small talk with him in attempt to make him feel better. it's all for your godson. i told myself

"so- um carl- how's everything?" i asked and tried to remove my ever-present furrowed brows

he looked at me weirdly "it-everything is great"

i nodded "how's lily and the baby"

a smile came over his face like it was involuntary "lily is amazing and the baby is healthy"

i nodded again "great. that's great." i was very uncomfortable with the conversation

carl laughed "i appreciate you trying to help me feel better, but i swear aldrin I'm fine."

i sighed "I'm not doing it for you. I'm doing it for my god son. i cant have him get a burnt-out father," i tell him with a bored tone

carl laughed and went to leave. my phone pinged and i looked at the text

"on second thought- you can go home. I'm leaving as well" i tell him while still looking at my phone

"everything fine?" he asked and i nodded

"just have a dinner with someone important" i told him and glared at his smirking face

i park my car and get out to sit on the bench of the bus stop. i send a text to fayre that I'm here and wait patiently.

soon i heard footsteps and turned to look her walking over to me. there was something different about her- she dyed her hair
