i put a hand on vi's shaking shoulder as she cried into her palm "its okay vi" i hugged her close. she shook more

"he laughed right at my face A, i thought he loved me" she cried more and i started crying too, for my best friend

"c'mon we are ditching, you need time off and i know the perfect place" i took out the keys i stole from my dad's desk.

"whats that?" she asked and wiped under her eyes

"today when i was leaving i saw this at my dad's desk. then i heard him saying it was a abandoned warehouse. i drove over there before school and it's so cool. i stole it thinking we can transform the place to a secret hangout" i smiled. vi smirked and i was happy she wasn't sad anymore

she stood up "you sure it's safe?" she asked

i winked at her "the safest place, it's my dad's what could possibly be dangerous there?" i assured her and she believed me

i wake up with a start and to the sound of curtains being drawn. i covered my eyes from the sun. i then remembered i didn't have anyone to wake me up in the morning and sprung out of bed and looked at the person with panic

i sighed in relief when i saw it was aldrin. i could take him on easily

"good morning"he says with amusement. I busied my hand with pulling my hair back so i don't punch him in the fucking face

"morning" i remembered to speak softly and pretend to be scared, im in a new place anyway

"how are you feeling?" he ask

i nodded awkwardly

"c'mon I'll get you breakfast"

come on dude just let me go already! who knew a gang leader had manners?

"no no it's fine. i will just go home. I've bothered you enough already. thanks for you help though"

he rolled his eyes "you haven't bothered me in a least. there are some clothes i bought for you in the bathroom. breakfast will be done in 10" he said and started to walked out the room

"wait" at least i can finish a step right now "i didn't get your name"

he chuckled. oh how much i wanna hit that face "aldrin" i nodded

"I'm fayre" my fake name, to be extra safe

"ok get ready fayre" i shivered from disgust and he didn't notice thankfully

I walked into the kitchen after cleaning myself up

"hey is that for me?" i asked looking at the plate. Do i trust him enough that he won't poison my food?

"something wrong?" he asked. i looked at him with a fake guilty look

"i should've mentioned... I'm vegan" best way to cook my own food

"I'll just make you something else....um what can you eat?"he asked while nodding

i gave out a laugh "it's fine I'll make something" bingo. i should be a professional liar. oh wait, i am

"so....um what happened to that guy?" i asked non chalantly

please say you killed him

"he won't bother you anymore"he said shortly.

i nodded, guess I'll just have to wait till i get to the headquaters

"what were you even doing here? you live on the opposite side from here" he asked

fuck, i didn't think about that. he was supposed to drop me home last night. fuck fuck fuck think of something

"i was-s visiting some friend and i walking there when i ran into him" really? we stuttering now

i was disappointed in myself. i was being sloppy. first i fell asleep on a mission and now i didn't think about how the location could be a slip up.

if he catches me right now, i don't have a gun while i can see one inside his waistband

i wonder if i can get to the knife fast enough or should i rather pin him down

thankfully though he looked down at his phone

"hey are you ok if some of my work friends come over?"he asked "I'll drop you home after that"

i groaned internally. let me go already!

I was in the living room when the bell rang and a minute later, aldrin along with his assistant carl and his wife lily walked in

"ooo i didn't know you had company" lily gushed

"fayre, this is carl my friend and his wife lily. lily and carl this is fayre, a friend" ohh that's how it starts folks

i smiled at them.

"gosh i haven't had a girl friend since i dating this goof"

puh lease,  if she think we are gonna be girl friends she is wrong. if she wasn't pregnant i would have punched her when she smiled at me. but i need to make a good impression with her, it's harder to fool women with fakeness

lily came over and started talking to me about random shit but my eyes followed aldrin as he walked to his office with carl and shut the door

"cant take your eyes off him huh?" lily teased me

i internally rolled my eyes

"yeah he....cute" maybe her blabber mouth will deliver this to aldrin

she gushed and clapped her hands "is that so?" she asked and i nodded shyly

i nodded "he's sweet, caring, brave" disgusting, toad, son of a bitch

"i know right, that's why we are asking him to be our baby's god father" that intrigued me

"is that so?" i ask and she nodded

soon both men walked out with carl smiling and aldrin looking.....indifferent

"i guess you agreed" lily smiled. carl and aldrin nodded

she smiled. "well nice talking to you fayre, please come to the baby shower next week" i nodded and they thankfully left

"do you want me to drop you off?" aldrin asked

"if it's not too much of trouble" remembering to be polite

once we were in the car, i spoke up

"you can just drop me off at the bus stop, i need to make a stop on my way to my house"

aldrin nodded. we were silent for the most of the the ride with him driving and me on my phone

zelva had texted me a move. ughhh i need a break. i get out of the car once we are there and smile at him

"how about i buy you dinner as a thank you for today and last night?" i offered. he thought about it for a minute

"ok"

"here's my number, text me so i can save yours" i gave him the second number zelva gave me and walked off

finally, i can let out my anger
