VII- we're going on a date tomorrow-

i was talking to carl on fayre's couch when she walked in while rubbing her eyes sleepily.

"hey, how are you feeling?" i ask. she nodded groggily

"what happened to the guards?" she looked worried

"nothing don't worry." they will get punished though. they said they didn't see anyone walking in the building so i guess they took another way

she just nodded and turned to carl "i should probably make something to eat for both of you" she walked into the kitchen and i heard her mumbling something like 'I'm such a bad host'

carl walked away to call some people while i follow fayre in the kitchen. she was looking inside her pantry with a rather cute confused expression on her face

"we can just order something" i told her as i come to a stop behind her

she looks back at me and shakes her head "no no i can make something, pancakes?" she asked and i nodded

"you know it's really hard to startle you" i look down at her. she chuckles

"I guess you can say that"

then i turned serious "so you didn't see them coming in but they left through the window?" i asked

she nodded. i was confused now "but you live on the 4th floor?"

she shrugged "there is a escape ladder"

she was being really brave through all this. anyone else who would have been jumped like she was would still be scared. i wonder if it had happened in the past?

"why are you staring at the back of my head?" she said as she

"because i can" i smirked. she turned around with a glint in her eyes.

"I'm sure there is some law about that being illegal" she says in amusement

i chortle. only if she knew the only legal thing i do is taxes.

"there isn't" i turn to see that she took out her phone and she was looking at the screen with a pout. i walk behind her and look at the screen too

"you really googled 'is there a law about staring at the back of people's head' ?" i ask in amusement

she looks up with a bashful look "i was just curious"

i couldn't help but smile at her and her eyes flash with happiness when she sees my smile.

we just stood there staring at each other. i find my eyes falling to her lips and i draw a breathe.

i really do wanna kiss her, trust me i do. but why do i feel like I'm betraying vivian?

reading the remorse in my eyes, fayre furrowed her brows in confusion.

god, am I being an idiot? why am i still hung on vi? i always knew nothing could happen between me and vi, so why am i sabotaging myself now, 3 years after she passed away?

"you okay?" she asked. i nodded "yeah i was just thinking about something" i tell her

"about what?" she asked

"has this happened before?" i ask instead. her eyes widen and i got my answer. it has

"how?" she in disbelief. i shrug as if to say 'i just do'

"i don't wanna go deep into it but the guys at my highschool were assholes" she sighed

i scowled "did you tell anyone?" i ask in hope those idiots were punished

"i did, but because i ran away before any damage could be done, no one believed me as there was no proof"

"you alright?" she asked me, i should ask her. she is looking at my clenching fists

"I'm sorry" she shook her head at my apology

"it was nowhere near your fault." she assures me

"no I'm sorry you have re live that because of me"

"it's fine" she rubs my forearm.

this girl is really comforting me like i was the one who was threatened

"let's make some pancakes" she says smiling brightly like she always did

i grab her arm to pull her back to my chest. she looked up at me with a surprised look "move in with me"

her eyes widen as she registers what i said

"w-what?" she asked

"move in with me" i tell her like it's easy. "you will be safer there. this neighbourhood is not safe"

she blinks at me "you are kidding right? aldrin we have seen each other like 3 times and two of those times it was because i was in danger" she said with a frustrated sigh

"and that why you would be safe with me" i point out

she tried to calm down with some breathes "Aldrin it's too early, we don't know each other that well and i can't just move in with you"

i sigh in defeat and nod "fine. we will get to know each other first" she gives me a look of disbelief but laughs it off

carl walked in the room with a serious face. he smiled at fayre and turned to whisper to me "we got a huge lead, and i ordered jace to look into it more" he told me

i nodded. Jace was our top hacker and i liked him. "ok i want more news by tomorrow morning" i tell him

i smell smoke so i turn to look at fayre. she gives us a sheepish smile

"how about Mcdonalds?" she asked

carl laughed as i smiled "i'll order it" he told me

"and tell lily to come over too" i tell him "she's alone in my office"

"ok" he walked away

i look at fayre "we are going on a date tomorrow" i think that much time is enough for her to prepare

she gapes at me and i smirk before walking away
