"no you don't need to come back, I'll take care of it. just be with your bodyguards. right now Alabama is safer for you" i assured fayre

"you sure?" she asked again. she looked really scared and my heart hurt knowing i was the one who bought her into this miss

i got a text from zakai "yeah, i got to go. zakai has an update"

"ok, but we need to talk when i get back" my heart sunk. i don't know if i will stop her if she decides to leave me. i will beg her but i won't force her.

"of course" she hung up and guilt and sorrow passed through me

zakai- the bomb squad is here, we'll keep and eye out

no 'civilians' were allowed near the post office so i sent some of my men to keep me updated

i don't know how but no social media platform or news channel was talking of the bomb. i guess it was covered by the police

with my head in my hands i rub circles to ease my growing headache.

i did nothing. i failed again to keep my loves safe. i should have been more cautious

all i wanted to do was pause and reverse. fix my mistakes and make sure to kill the bastards whole family

i grab the gun from my table and shoot the pillow on the couch. it wasn't enough to calm me, i need to kill. i grab my car keys and walk to front door. i open it and see carl and lily with edwin standing there

"woah, who's dying?" carl joked looking at me. i took a breathe

"nothing, cmon in" i welcomed them. i saw edwin's eye set on my gun i immediately hide it under a table

carl catches me and i see his lips twitch. bitch

"whats wrong?" lily asks

"i cant tell you both" i said with a straight face. carl nods in understanding

"where's fayre?" lily says looking around

"in albama for her sister's bridal shower" lily smiled

i take a look at edwin and he grins. i instantly feel a little calm. i raise my hand to take him and he squirms in lily's arms

"i swear it's like he loves you more than his own parents" carl says sarcastically

i smiled looking down at my godson. after fayre he was probably the only one who gave me peace.

"I'm gonna go make coffee for everyone" carl said and lily went to help him

by the time they were back, edwin was asleep and i got a text from zakai

"no fucking way" i grumbled

i sent the screenshot of his text to fayre

me- it was a false alarm, no need to worry

"whats wrong?" carl asked

"cant say" i repeat and they keep quite

we hangout and before they leave carl pulls me aside

"just remember if you need my help, one mission won't be that dangerous" he assured me. i nodded but i knew i won't put them, especially edwin in danger

"we found a house in Sydney and a good job for lily and possibly me too" my eyebrows rise at the information

i nodded "when are you both leaving?" i ask

"we are waiting till i get my degree, which should be soon. i had some sources" he says

"well I'm happy for you all" i said genuinely

he smiled and left

at midnight i sent fayre a text
