Lan Wangji was freaking out. He was happy to finally go see Wei Ying after so long. It had been almost 3 months since Wei Ying had taken off to the Burial Mounds with the remaining Wen's. He was going to convince him to finally go back to Gusu with him, and maybe even request a courtship between the two if Wei Ying wanted. However when he arrived, he found the place completely deserted. Not one person. At first he thought that they had died, but there were no dead bodies. Where could they have possibly gone? He was freaking out now. People don't just disappear, and I don't remember any reports of a large group of people travelling recently.
He decided to go inside the cave and search, but all he found was scattered talismans and chairs on the floor. As he was about to walk out, he stumbled on something. He picked it up and got a better look. It looked like a gold piece of jewelry? Who could even afford something like this? He decided that he would report this to his brother and see what he thought about it.

Lan Wangji had finally arrived back to Gusu, and decided that he would go straight to his brother.
"Xiaozhong, there is some troubling news." Xichen looked at his brother who seemed really freaked out, which was worrying.
"What's wrong Wangji?"
"I went to go see Wei Ying, and he wasn't there." Xichen's eyes widened.
"What do you mean, he can't just disappear?"
"I looked everywhere, there were no bodies, no spiritual energy, nothing," he said while looking down, for the first time showing a little emotion. Xichen contemplated this for a minute and then decided.
"The discussion conference is in a few days. Let's discuss it with the others."
"But, what about Jin Guangshan?"
"Don't worry Wangji, he won't be there, it's just Madam Jin coming."
"Mn." Wangji bowed and went to his room. He would have to figure out how to find Wei Ying.
-----
The discussion conference was today, and the twin jades would have to figure out a way to bring up the matter of Wei Wuxian. The conference had been going as usual. Some of the older men were discussing something about lowering the cost of travelling routes, but nothing that was truly important to them.
"I would like to say something," Xichen finally spoke up.
"Hm, go ahead Xichen," Nie Mingjue responded.
"My brother had recently gone to the Burial Mounds to check on Wei Wuxian but found some disturbing news. There was nobody there, it was completely abandoned. Wangji searched everything but found nothing."
"WHAT!? Lan Wangji, explain yourself," an angry purple grape shouted with an angry face.
"Like Xiaozhang said, Wei Ying and the rest of the Wen's weren't in the Burial Mounds." This caused all the sect leaders to start freaking out and they began discussing how they could find him. Jiang Wanyin was angry and shocked at the same time. Even if Wei Wuxian had left the sect, he was still his brother and didn't want anything bad to happen to him.
In the end the sect leaders had sent groups of cultivators to search the parts of the Burial Mounds that they could reach, but it was to no avail. Wei Wuxian was nowhere to be seen.
