Chapter 4: Offers

 As the trio followed Wei Wuxian into the cave, Hong pulled Daiyu over.

"My lady, I don't know if we should trust them."

"Do you think that I can't handle them? There's nothing to worry about. Also, Hong you should show a little compassion. These people are clearly underfed and have nowhere else to go. Besides, there are elderly and children here. Not to mention the fact that I'm quite interested in this Wei Wuxian. So if you could please be kind to them, I'd be happy," Daiyu said as she followed after the two boys.

"Hm, whatever," Hong putted and ran after them.

When the two girls caught up with them they saw Wei Wuxian and Boquin discussing talismans. Daiyu was quite happy that somebody finally shared a similar interest to Boquin as there was not much of a need for talismans in the forbidden lands. When they noticed us they quickly pulled out some chairs and we sat down at the table.

"So, as you can see, the situation isn't that great here. We don't have much food and we don't have anywhere else to go. I am very grateful for your offer, but what do you want in return?" Daiyu thought about this for a moment. She didn't really want anything from the, but she was interested in why Wei Wuxian was surrounded by demonic energy.

"Not much, but I see that you are highly skilled in talismans and I feel an unusual energy around you so I would like to better understand it. I suppose I wouldn't mind an assistant."

"Is that all?" Wei Wuxian looked happy and surprised.

"Yes, we would give you a large patch of land and help you until your citizens can live well on their own."

"Yes, yes, thank you so much." Wei Wuxian exclaimed with a smile.

"Wei Wuxian!" a voice suddenly called from outside. Uh oh, it looks like Wuxian forgot that Wen Ning and Wen Qing went to town to get supplies. The trio turned their heads to the cave entrance and then back to Wei Wuxian, while Daiyu lifted an eyebrow. They decided to all head outside.

Wen Qing had been having a good day. She had woken up early and continued her medical research. She helped with the laundry, and even helped her little brother cook. They however needed medical supplies so they went to town to get them.

But as they were heading back to the settlement they were met with the frightened faces of the citizens.

"What happened?" We Qing asked granny.

"Three people came, two women and one man. We couldn't hear what they were saying but Wei-Gongzi took them inside the cave." I swear if that idiot got himself into trouble again.

"Wei Wuxian!"

The four exited the cave with Wei Wuxian in the front.

"Ah, Wen Qing, it looks like we have a new home." Wen Qing just stared at the idiot and sighed. She then took a look at the three behind them. There was a tall man in the very back that had a gentle smile on his face. A short girl who had an irritated expression with two swords on her back. Last of all there was a tall woman with silver long hair, and an outfit that could rival Jin Guangshan's wealth.

"What do you mean Wei Wuxian?" Wen Qing said, crossing her arms.

"Uh, maybe I should explain." She said loud enough for everyone to hear, Wei Wuxian looked over and nodded.

"We are offering you a settlement in our lands, in exchange having Wei Wuxian work for me. We will help you build homes and with supplies, along with protection from the outside." Everyone looked happy and started talking to each other.

"Hm, I suppose if Wuxian thinks that's best then that's fine." Wei Wuxian looked surprised as that was one of the first times that Wen Qing was actually calm about something.

They all made introductions to each other, and Hong took a particular interest in Wen Ning. The next couple hours people packed up any belongings they had, and negotiations were made between the Wen siblings, Wei Wuxian and the trio. Wen Qing would study at the medical school they had, and make contributions of her knowledge there. Wen Yuan would go to school and live with Wei Wuxian. Wen Ning would go to guard training and work as an assistant to his sister. Last of all, Wei Wuxian would live in the main palace and would help with the cultivation section, along with being an assistant to Daiyu. The rest of the Wens would have a settlement of their own a short distance from Star City, with full privileges of citizens. They were about to head out when Hong remembered something.

"How are we going to get back?"

"I suppose we can take the dragons," Daiyu sighed. While Wuxian and the Wen siblings looked at us like we were crazy. All three of them bit their fingers and summoned their dragons.

Hong's dragon's name was Ai. She was red, and had sharp scales all around her. The dragon's eyes were red, but she had blue accents all over her.

Boquin's dragon's name was Xiuying. He was dark blue and had silver eyes.

Last but not least was Daiyu's dragon which was named Nuo. He was much bigger than the other two. He was a deep black color withs scales that when reflected almost looked red.

Everyone looked in extreme awe at the giant beasts in front of them. But Wei Wuxian and A-Yuan were jumping up and down like the kids that they are about who will ride which. They climbed aboard and took off towards their new home.

'I suppose we can do the check up another time' Daiyu thought with a gentle smile gracing her face.
