Chapter 15: Mystery Man

 Li Jie had agreed to hang out with Jia for the sake of his master, but this is torture. He liked jewels to an extent, but has just become her personal errand boy.

"Hold this."

"Get me a drink."

"I'm hungry."

"Then go eat!" Li Jie had enough. He went off on his own hoping to find something more interesting to do.

"Hm, fine." Jia started walking around looking for a nice restaurant to eat and maybe some alcohol. She was jealous that Boquin would be spending the whole day with her gege, but she knew that he probably didn't like her anyways. Maybe she should give up. With those thoughts ending she had found a restaurant.

"Table for one please," she asked. The man had looked at her like she was a prize or something, it made her feel sick.

"Of course, this way," he said, leading her to the table, he could clearly see she was wealthy from the way she dressed. There weren't many people in the restaurant, besides a man clad in white a couple tables down. He was very handsome and had a gracious smile. 'Maybe I could flirt with him', Jia thought to herself, making her way over to him.

"Are you a cultivator as well," she asked, gesturing to his sword.

"Ah, yes I am, and you?"

"Of course, I'm one of the best," she said with a cocky smirk.

"Is that so? Will I be seeing you and your sect at the discussion conference?"
"Yes, my gege is the sect leader," she said with stars in her eyes.

"What sect may that be?" he asked politely. He usually wouldn't talk this much to a stranger, but he could tell that she was not an average cultivator.

"The Likun sect, and you?"

"The new one, hm? I am from the Lan sect."

"I'm sorry for you," she said, pouting.

"..Why?"

"They're so cold and rigid, my gege told me all about them. He said that the twin jades are the only ones that he actually likes."

"Is that so? I think I agree with you," he said, chuckling lightly. They talked for a little bit and went their separate ways at the end.

"So, did you get something to eat?" asked Li Jie.

"Yes and much more," responded Jia with a cocky smirk. Li Jie was confused but went along with it.
