Lan Wangji has become colder over the years. Since Wei Wuxian had disappeared, he had found himself not wanting much. With nothing to do, he cultivated as much as possible. He is very close to immortality, and is getting constant praise from everyone. But all he wants is to see his Wei Ying. He knows deep down that he's not dead, but he wishes he could find out where he is. He would go anywhere with him as long as Wuxian would not leave him again. The other cultivation sects have pretty much forgotten him, and even if he were to come back, nobody would care as he hasn't caused any problems recently.
Lan Wangji had decided to take on a disciple of his own to fill his time. The disciple's name was Lan Jingyi. He was a bright boy who reminded him a lot of Wei Ying. He was also progressing quickly, with a core that was almost developed. He decided that he would take his personal disciple with him to the next discussion conference, seeing as there was a little competition going on. There were competitions for every age group, along with their different skills. Lan Jingyi was going to enter the sword competition and the archery competition, but he had little luck in music.
Wangji felt as if something was going to be different this year. The weirdest thing was the new sect that emerged. It was almost as large as the great sects in power and numbers, and he had heard reports of the cultivators who were helping small villages with their problems. Not much is known however of the sect leaders, which is unusual considering there are two. It would be somewhat normal if they were married, but apparently they had been siblings. He had heard that the heir to the sect was also entering the competition, and that he was even younger than Jingyi. But unlike his disciple, this boy would be entering in every category, and even requested to be in the sword fight amongst all age groups which is unheard of. But he was brought out of his thoughts by his brother, who had just returned to their inn.
"Wangji, how is your evening going?"
"Well, you?"
"It was.. interesting. I met a cultivator from the new Likun sect." This took Wangji's attention.
"What was he like?"
"She was very.. Confident, but kind as well." Wangji raised his eyebrow, he rarely heard his brother showing someone praise. He was also surprised that it was a woman. Female cultivators existed, but they were rare. This sect is getting more and more interesting.
They had finally arrived at the first day of the discussion conference, which was mainly for the sect leaders and their most important disciples. He greeted everyone as they had come up to talk to him. He didn't enjoy small talk, but he knew that he would have to put up appearances for the sake of his sect. The tables were arranged by power and wealth of the sect. Jins were at the front, then Lans, Jiangs, Nies and the new Likun sect, with more going down the line. Almost everyone had shown up, but the Likun sect was still not here, until he heard.
"Announcing the Likun sect," all eyes in the room turned to get a look of these newcomers, but Wanji had noticed only one face.
