That morning Pranay was not in a mood to learn new words. He insisted that I tell him a story specifically something funny and humorous. I had told him almost all of such stories of mine.I made an attempt to make him understand something serious as well as interesting.
"It is very funny and comical to read religious texts which describe God as an autocrat and a dictator and man is urged to surrender himself to Him as His slave.
My own realisation is that God is an absolute Democrat, not a bad-tempered Tyrant who is always on the lookout to punish men who have committed sins and don't believe in Him. Since human beings have written those religious texts, they have portrayed the Lord as a human being with all his usual meannesses, weaknesses, cruelties and sense of revenge. It's ridiculous to find that God is only concerned with this earth and its inhabitants, that He is worried about human beings and leaves the poor animals and birds on earth to their own fate. The notion that God is our Master and we are His servants is a blatant lie and a shining piece of falsehood.Rather I have found Him to be our loving Father and we are His dearest children. If a child is disobedient and skeptical about Him,He adopts a constructive approach to bring him to the right path. The child then realises His greatness and love and begins to cry tears of repentance and remorse. If God and man were two separate entities,
there could be some considerable possibility of a serious conflict between them.Since they are One,and since God knows this, man can alone be stupid enough to hurl abusive words at Him because of his stupendous ignorance.
Will God fight against God? We must remember that self-realisation turns man into God.If it is intense and profound,it turns man into God. Kahlil Gibran says loss of individuality is not loss of one's identity but acquisition of a new identity. The river that falls into the sea becomes the sea. This is exactly what happens after the loss of the seeker's individuality.
However, an acute and biting fear keeps nagging the seeker before the destruction of his individuality. In my own case,I felt it was equal to killing myself. I asked some elderly men and women about the dissolving of the soul in the Supreme Being. Each of them opined that if you dissolve in God,then your life is an absolutely meaningless one.Although the Geeta says the supreme goal of man on Earth is the emancipation of the soul from the worldly bondage,99% of the readers of the Geeta never want to lose their individuality or self-identity which according to them is suicidal. This weakness of man has given birth to the misconceptions of things like hell and heaven. Most men and women stupidly think that they would like to go to heaven and help themselves to the physical enjoyments available there. There no one is likely to grow old and is destined to live a thousand years of physical pleasures and enjoyments. If physical pleasures and enjoyments were so prized and valued, why does God prefer not to assume a physical form?I have seen many believing in monotheism often pointing to the sky meaning to refer to God's existence there.Just imagine how stupid God is ! He allows humans pleasures and luxuries which He denies Himself.Man has a strong unuprootable desire to enjoy the pleasures of youth and carrying those memories he dies a most painful death. Other foolish men have written down and told him that such pleasures are plentifully available in heaven. No Hindu,no Muslim,no Christian would like to sacrifice his self-identity for nothing. Everyone wants enjoyments in heaven. But no one tells me that God also hungers for those enjoyments. Many fools die cheerfully dead sure that they will land in heaven and all their bodily comforts will be provided to them the moment they reach there.Although their bodies have been destroyed,God will give them excellent youthful bodies to gratify their lust. There will be many apsaras(divine beauties) to sleep with them.Don't you think God who is doing all this, being least involved in all this, using us as His mere toys, is a first-rate villain? If all these facts are true why don't we hear about God's wives in heaven? Is He with lust or without lust?
I find it 100% fasle when someone tells me if you believe in God you can have Him.But if you argue about Him,He will be far far away from you?I don't accept this stupid statement. Religion is not at all a matter of faith,at least for the devout Hindu.Other religions are based on blind faith and blind beliefs but Hinduism is pure science. The Hindu is encouraged to strive and struggle to evolve spiritually with irrefutable logic being its basis. All the greatest spiritual masters of the world have their origins in Hinduism. But I must acknowledge the greatness of a Christian like Kahlil Gibran. If Sai Baba was a Muslim,it would be a matter of immense pride for each and every Muslim in the world. But I don't think even a single Muslim in the world looks upon Sai as the most merciful Father of all mankind. This ignorance has its basis in pure monotheism. This is a kind of faulty and misconceived monotheism which is dreadful and fatal. Here God stands detached from humans and other living beings. He is high up in the heavens and has nothing to do with the living beings below Him on Earth. All humans are His slaves and have to sing His praise otherwise He will be cross with them and His slaves will slit their throats or stone them to death.
But the monotheism of the Hindu is hundred percent scientific and rational. It is all-encompassing.All the visible and invisible things and beings are inside it. The monotheism of the Hindu comes into being through self-realisation.This becomes possible through questioning the existence of God,through challenging Him,through doubting Him. "The whole problem with the world is that fools and fanatics are always so certain of themselves, and wiser people so full of doubts(Bertrand Russell).Believing
something without verifying it,is the highest kind of stupidity and is extremely dangerous. The monotheism of the Hindu poses no threat to mankind as it excludes none and embraces all;but the monotheism that makes a section of people feel themselves to be better than others,is bound to cause violence, bloodshed and unimaginable cruelties. The masses are always exhorted to believe in the holy texts without the least bit of doubt and 99 % of them seem to follow this dangerous advice without raising the least bit of doubt but now the situation is changing. Young people want proofs before they are asked to believe something. An Age of Reason seems to be in the offing."
I was astonished to see that both the young men had been listening to me with rapt attention. Imtiaz was asking me very tough questions these days.
