Terrible Misconceptions

I said to both the boys,"Both of you are still running after illusions?Aren't you? Yes..When I say something about Buddha,where are your thoughts.....?Your thoughts are with the setting in which he grew up.Your thoughts travel to those olden days when he was living and you picture to yourselves how Buddha might have looked during those hoary days.You live in the present but Buddha lives in that very remote past.
I feel just the other way. Buddha lived then and is also living now as perfectly as he did during his own days.He lives in my heart,in every pore of my body.He is present  in your heart and mind.He also lives in all living and non-living things. He is present within you but you are searching for him in the past.All the saints of the world are present within each and every object you see whether living or no-living,within each cup of tea you drink,within each morsel of  food you eat...There is nothing in which they don't exist.Billions and billions of gods and goddesses exist in a single drop of water...!Although Hindu gods  and goddesses number 33 crore,in reality their number is unlimited.(I laugh at the ignorance  of man!)
This is the pure truth man fails to accept because he knows nothing except shapes and sizes.You two are my prospective heroes. I depend upon you to revolutionise man's thinking process and herald the coming of The Golden Age in the history of mankind....What do you say? "

"You have to make people look neither backward nor forward but within their own true genuine selves.It is not possible to make all people wise but it is possible to transform at least 10 % of the world population into divine spiritual beings. Those seers of the Absolute will change the world into an abode of peace. There are a vast number of young people who are ready to sacrifice their self-interest. When they taste the nectar that trickles from the sacrifice of the self, they will get boundless energy and tremendous willpower to spread love and happiness everywhere.People think having sex gives pleasure but they have not experienced the profound joy and boundless pleasure that comes from self-realisation and from being self-sacrificing.An ordinary man thinks money,fame and sex give pleasure. If it is so, do you think millions and millions of sadhus and yogis over the centuries have been engaged in a wild goose chase? They don't want any publicity.Why...?Because it's possible for them to get the supreme joy and happiness without any social recognition for which people take recourse to every possible means, no matter whether it is honest or dishonest.The true and genuine happiness comes from the spirit,not from matter."

"Then yogis and sanyasis have no sense of history? " asked Imtiaz.

"If they had had no sense of history,they would not have been swearing at each other determined to cause violence and bloodshed, each determined  to cut the other's throat.I don't have this stupid harmful sense of history.All the fake yogis and sanyasis and fake maulanas and Islamic scholars fighting for their rights,are the short-sighted rascals who are profoundly inspired by the poisonous mamba called history. History can be used constructively as well as destructively."

"Uncle, you are right.What is happening in India deserves mention. Muslims are denouncing Hindus and Hinduism and Hindus are baying for the blood of Muslims. No party are aware that they are killing their own brothers.Can India be a great nation?" I was impressed to hear Imtiaz's reaction.

Pranay said,"What is the actual source of the trouble in the world..?"

I said,"Disunity.."

None of them spoke. So I said,"Unity alone can turn the world into a heaven or paradise.It will come into existence not if everyone shouts slogans:"Give us this..Give us that but if everyone comes forward to make sacrifices.This is not impossible. History tells us how the American people got independence from England and how India and many other nations got their freedom from colonial rule.Self-seeking people are the source of trouble everywhere. And what do I mean by the word "self-seeking"? A self-seeking person is the product of a materialistic mentality.This mentality is also responsible for suffering on Earth. "

"Now, I am sure it is absolutely necessary to forget history. It's very essential for peace and happiness on this planet to prevail...What do we gain,by the way, spiritually? Anything special..?"
Imtiaz looked at me in expectation.

"Forgetting your own life history means immense spiritual gain.It is our knowledge or memories of the past that bring us back into this world.When you have kept your past and future out of your memory you stand hundred percent emancipated.This is how the gyani achieves salvation or freedom from the worldly bondage.Our memories play a vital role as far as the karmic theory is concerned. Except self-realisation nothing, no power in the world, can destroy or discard your memories.Memories,
desires ,thoughts,feelings,wishes etc are ever active here to keep us trapped and detained...."

"Uncle,you attach a lot of importance to poverty. Is poverty the only means to realise God? In my own case I have experienced little suffering yet I am improving spiritually..."

"Don't worry dear..Your suffering could be on its way into its abode inside you. Besides, how many sleepless nights have you spent reading books in vain to explore Truth ?Have you not suffered mentally and physically and emotionally to reach your present stage of self-knowledge...?"

"Can the mind be entirely empty?" said Pranay.

I said to him,"You may not believe me but I must tell you what I have experienced. There was a time when I had to try numerous methods to control my thoughts. They entered into my mind despite myself. But a time came when I fondly  wished some thoughts to get into my head.It was simply impossible...! Nor was I able to picture anyone's face to myself. My head was an absolute void. I constantly wondered how it became possible..."
