Omniscience? Possible???

Mr.Abdul Sattar and his friend were taking their usual walk in the morning. I was following them totally lost in their discussion. The topic was intriguing.Mr.Mishra had told his Muslim friend a future forecast about his son's wife had come true. An old sadhu who lived in his wife's village had made it. Mr.Sattar chilled Mishra's excitement and eagerness to detail the miracle."I don't believe in all this funtus you are talking about..Except Allah no one can have the knowledge of the past, present and future. He is omnipresent, omniscient and omnipotent." Then just like a parrot he uttered something in Arabic which I was sure was of no use just as stupid Hindu pundits did to impress the gullible.

"I know both of you are discussing something meaningless?" I said to them teasingly. Mr.Sattar looked at me livid with indignation. Then pointing to the sky he said,"Have some fear of Him...!He is watching each and every action of yours.."

I said to him,"Chacha, you say God is omnipresent which means He is not located in a particular place and one finds him everywhere but you pointed heavenwards. So you think just like a man sitting  in a place Allah is sitting in heaven only.We have to send our messages to Him from Earth.Muslims say Allah is present everywhere, yet they have to go to Mecca to offer homage to Him. They have to offer Nawaz facing Mecca. You Muslims are really very interesting..."

Mr. Sattar tried to avoid me not because I was telling the truth but because he was a prisoner of his beliefs. His religious roots had gone so irrevocably deep that a return from those abysmal depths was just illusory and impossible.Raghuram Mishra was also an extremist in his views and was so solidly and fanatically grounded in  his own religion that he inwardly thought Allah could never be Lord Jagannath. When the two oldies crossed swords over religion,Raghuram openly said meat eating was haram and his friend Sattar lost no time in calling idolatry equally haram. They would engage in vitriolic exchanges but before parting ways home, they would usually sort out their disagreement.

I said to Mr. Sattar,"Predictions can be made hundred percent accurately.Look.....! Time or a man's lifespan is limited.Distance is also limited. But God is unlimited and the Absolute. I was glad to know that both Einstein and Stephen Hawking called time and distance non-absolutes.What you call 'man' is limited or has limits. All non-absolutes are within God who is the Absolute or the Infinite. Can finites go out of the Infinite...?No,never..It is therefore certain that man can know the past, present and future of man."

The Muslim gentleman asked me,"Do you think man is God?"

I said,"Definitely yes...!Man is God..!This is what Sadguru Sai says.According to Sri Sai,it is the height of ignorance to say that you and God are separate and different..!"

Abdul Sattar shouted,"Again you say man is Allah?"

"Why..? You yourself say the same thing!"I said.

Fuming with anger,he said,"How..?"

My answer was simple:"You say God is everywhere and do you say he doesn't exist in man?"

"He might exist in man and things but man or anything living or dead can't be called Allah."

"Why...? How? " Explain.

He said."Man is an absolutely helpless creature and is always at the mercy of Allah. Can he protect himself from dangers and calamities?"

"No doubt man is apparently helpless. But Chacha don't you think a single matchstick is enough to destroy a billion universes? You can produce fire only when you try and strike two stones together. You have immense reserves of infinite spiritual power within you.But you never try to discover it. You are attached to your holy texts only. And there are great scholars like Zameer Naik and Swami Sankarananda who hoodwink the innocent masses fanning communal hatred and violence in the name of religion.True religion consists in practice, not in being bookworms and remembering machines."

Raghuram said to me,"I can't understand why you have such a violent aversion to holy books. We gain knowledge about God from those books..."

"That idiotic practice of reading holy texts is the bane of our times. It has produced millions and millions of fanatics,
fundamentalists, cut-throats,outlaws and murderers.Search within exerting yourself to the fullest extent and locate Allah within your own body which is His dearest mosque.Locate Lord Jagannath or Vishnu is already present within you. No need to make pilgrimages to distant places to visit your deities." I said all this to the two people.I knew that it was a Himalayan task to make two ordinary people believe that religion consists in practice. It was like trying to change two timid sheep into lions and help them realise they were not slaves of any external force but they were kings.

Let me tell you that my current psychic experiences have now brought me to  realise whomever I see is already within me. Ramakrishna says when you see beautiful women, you must contemplate their feet to get over feelings of lust. I have been doing so for some years. But now it is interesting to note that when I see beautiful women it is meaningless to look at them. They dissolve in  a flash and I feel their existence in me.The same also happens when I look at people, birds and animals. My wife knows my fondness for pumpkin leaves. She told me that a pumpkin plant was growing in a vase kept in our balcony and she would like to fry it for me.I don't know why I was on the verge of tears. The pumpkin plant with its tender leaves exists within me...!

Finally I would like to tell you that there is no one to whom I can address my problems and difficulties. It is a state of absolute helplessness. There is no God or Goddess outside me and for me to fall back upon. Now I understand why mother used to say a yogi and devotee of Mother Kali would help himself to the prasad meant for the Goddess and declare that he himself was Mother Kali.Once people accused the priest of devouring all the prasad meant for Mother Kali and tried to punish him.

The next phase of a yogi's experience I think is to rise far far above his God consciousness. One has to sever and destroy their emotional ties with the very God one worships. This is the harshest part of emancipation because at this stage one has to ignore and remove all sense of respect or love for God.If you can't say Goodbye to your God,you are destined to fall from your elevated spiritual status and get entangled in worldly affairs unwittingly.

Many many strange things do happen in the world of the spirit. In 1997,I once hurled a stone at a young black dog whose muzzle was smeared with human excreta. At night,in a half awake state I saw the same dog in the lap of Lord Jagannath...!And that too as a visitor inside his temple!I have not thrown a single pebble at any dog since then.

In my childhood,I had a wonderful aim.A stone would be sometimes enough to strike down a bird on a tree. When I was in Class 6/7,I took pleasure in stoning monkeys, dogs and birds.I had killed a number of innocent doves and waterbirds throwing stones at them and later in life I had to pay the price. In a minor motorcycle accident in Bhubaneswar I had one of wrists fractured which is even now not as strong as it was prior to that.Sai saved me from losing a hand perhaps.
