As the anonymous voice of the man had promised, death started to occur. Random person died at random places. The deaths were not unexpected as it was already predicted earlier but still it was enough to turn Fury's hair grey if he had any.
Seven deaths.
With the same note tied around the bodies' necks.
Return her back.
And the most irking thing was that each of the corpse were wrapped in gift wrap.
Colourful and vibrant papers wrapped soulless beings.
"That man is a monster!! He's fucking insane!" Thor yelled slapping the desk angrily. No one disagreed.
Each of them tried to find a way to stop this murders but no one found any other way out except for one: Return Rose.
Surprisingly, admist this unnerving situation, Loki successfully managed to keep Rose away from the news about the deaths. It was ironic since the person to blame was completely unaware of the troubles she has caused.
But Rose could smell something was wrong. She was a cat afterall and cats are always curious.
While Loki tried his best to shut her eyes, she tried her best to blink and take in the reality.
And there was something else too.
After recovery, Rose was allowed to move freely. To visit park and malls and anywhere she wanted to go but each and every time, she was targeted and attacked. Thankfully, she always had two of the Avengers stuck to her side to save her every time.
The first attack in the park and some days later the second one in the beach seemed coincidental but when the attacks became more regular and started feeling like pre planned attacks, Rose and the rest realised something.
Rosabelle was being tracked.
"You said all the Hydra problems are over! Then why are they attacking again?" She had asked Loki, her face full of confusement and alert.
And Loki had lied again.
"Don't worry Love. SHIELD is working on it. It all will be over soon." Though he was relieved that Rose knew nothing about the deaths, he feared that the truth will come to light soon and Loki was afraid of that day.
All tried to carry on with their works in a low-key way but still Rose managed to get a sniff that something is wrong.
And the day she suddenly noticed a horizontal healing slit at the base of her wrist, she realised... something wrong was inside her.
"When did my wrist got slashed so badly and I didn't even notice it?" Rose asked herself, tracing the scar gently with her finger. Judging by the tiny white healing spots near the slash, she knew that it was stitched close, badly.
The attacks that were already whirling in her head desperately for an answer, came to a sudden conclusion that sent a cold shiver down her spine.
Oh God no...
"Jarvis!"
"Yes Rose?"
"Can you please scan my body...wait, just my right hand for any foreign object? And I need a view of it please."
"Sure Rose. Just hang on a second." A soft blue beam from some point in the ceiling fell on her hand, scanning her hand as Rose prayed to God for her assumption to be proven wrong.
As usual, God ditched her.
"There's a tracker ludged inside the base of your wrist. It's quite big but not that big that it could be felt from outside. I would prefer that you inform it to Mr. Stark Rose." A hologram appeared in front of her as she stared at her hand, particularly at a small device with a red light blinking rapidly.
