A Single Reason To Spare You

Loki woke up with a start when he felt something wet lick his ear.

The thought of a caterpillar wriggling into his ear made him shriek loudly and leap up sitting, hands clutching his chest as he gasped.

But to his relief and annoyance, it was Oreo who was licking his ear.

"Damn it, buddy." Loki took a deep breath and rubbed his eyes. He yawned and pushed away Oreo from his lap.

"Don't do that again, okay?" He said shaking his finger at the clueless pup who tilted it's head and woofed as if happy getting scolded.

Loki looked around. "And where is that annoying little bun?" He asked the puppy. Oreo barked and jumped down from the bed and then barked again.

Loki looked down from his bed and gawked, horrified.

"What the hell?!" He snapped, getting down from the bed and picking up the bunny from his favourite black shirt. "Why did you do that, huh?" He yelled, shaking the screeching rabbit.

His shirt now sported holes and a good part of the shirt was wet, no doubt that the bunny had peed on it.

"I hate you." Loki hissed and dropped the rabbit on the bed. He stormed into the bathroom and slammed the door shut.

"Ceiling man, where are the rest of the members?" He asked, splashing water on his face. "Only Captain is present in the Tower sir. Rest are out." Jarvis replied immediately.

"Everyone?" Loki lifted up his head from the sink and looked at his reflection in the mirror. "Where is Rose? Is she with the others?" He asked as he continued to stare at himself, clutching the either side of the sink. Water droplets dripped from his long lashes and jaws and he closed his eyes.

"Ceiling man I asked you something. Where is she?" He repeated, a bit impatiently now. Waking up abruptly from a sweet sleep was one of the things that he hated the most.

"She's not with others, sir. Others are attending some kind of meeting with Fury while she left with sir Alex an hour before."

Loki stood up straight, wiping his face with hands roughly. "Alex? Why?"

"Reason unknown sir." Jarvis replied.

"She's with Alex! She went somewhere without informing me?" He stormed back to his bedroom and opened the door. Almost immediately, Almond darted out of the room. Oreo however, didn't leave until he got a loving pat from his master.

He picked up his phone and called Rose but it went directly to the voicemail.

"Hi! This is Rose. Sorry for not attending your call but if it's urgent, please leave a message. I'll try to call you back as soon as possible."

"Well you know who's this." Loki snapped. "Where are you? I want you to call me back or better, return back. You didn't do good by leaving without informing me. And with Alex?! And wait. I'm not jealous. Just remember that. I'm just worried not jealous." He paused to take a breath. "Don't get into any troubles and return home as quickly as possible. Bye."

He flopped the phone on the bed and then joined it, sprawling his limbs and yawning widely.

"She could have just poked me awake! Where is she?" Loki grunted, hitting his fist on his pillow. "And what about the cake? Did she give it away to Alex?"

"Umm sir, the cake you're talking about is in the kitchen." Jarvis piped in and Loki stopped grumbling.

"What's Steve doing?" He asked, getting up. "Working out sir." Jarvis replied. Loki hummed and then teleported to the kitchen. The heavenly smell of vanilla and chocolate assaulted his nose and his mouth watered.
