Chapter 3
Oriana

I closed the door behind me and leaned my back against it. I smiled to myself and threw my head back as I began to laugh. ‘He kissed me. He actually kissed me’ I thought to myself. ‘And it was perfect’. My thoughts were interrupted by someone walking down the stairs. I looked up and saw Lydia walking towards me, wearing her Hello Kitty pj’s. “Your home late” She said bitterly. I tried not to smile at her as I could see she was still annoyed at me. I bit my lip and nodded my head. “Where have you been?” She asked glaring at me. I walked towards the stairs and lent against the banister. “Out...on a date” I told her nonchalantly. This annoyed her and she turned and walked up to the top of the stairs. “Next time come in a bit quieter” She mumbled as she walked back to her room. I thought we sorted it all out at lunch. But I guess she was just pretending.

Sighing happily to myself, I walked slowly in to the kitchen. I flicked the switch on and opened a cupboard. I pulled out a small glass and filled it up with water from the tap. I turned around and leant against the sink, sipping my water. “WHERE. HAVE. YOU. BEEN?” Mum shouted at me. I jumped at the sound of her voice and looked up. She was standing at the kitchen door glaring at me, her brow furrowed. I wiped away a drop of water from the corner of my mouth and tried to look away from mum. “Well?” She demanded. I looked up slowly and stared at her eyes. She stared back in a menacing way. “Out” I mumbled awkwardly. This infuriated her more.
“Out where? And with who” She questioned. I shifted my weight. I took a small step towards her. “With a boy I meet at school. We went to the cinema” I told her quietly.
“And you didn’t think to tell me? I got home from work to find only Lydia at home” She yelled at me. “I told Lydia to tell you” I yelled back at her. She crossed her arms and moved her weight from her left foot to her right. “I asked Lydia where you were. She told me she didn’t know” She spat at me through gritted teeth. My eyes widened in disbelief. “What? I pacifically told her to tell you” I said to her taken back by the news. “That’s right Aunt Andria. I just remembered that I didn’t tell you when you got in. It’s my fault really” Said Lydia coming down the stairs and into the kitchen. “Right then. Next time tell me yourself Oriana. And try not to forget next time Lydia. I’m going to bed” mum said with a sigh.
“Okay mum I will” I told her as I pecked her cheek before she walked back up the stairs into her room. I waited till she was in her room before I turned to face Lydia. She smiled at me with a smug look on her face. “You little bitch. You forgot on purpose” I spat at her. She just continued to smirk at me.
“Well next time don’t forget to give me a lift home” She said happily. I shook my head at her. “Get over yourself. And grow up for once in your life” I said to her as I stormed out of the kitchen and into my room.

I really wanted to slam my door in her face, but I knew that would only annoy mum further, so I closed the door softly. I turned the lamp next to my bed on and pulled my pj’s out from under my pillow. I changed quickly. I slipped out of my room and into the bathroom to clean my teeth. I did this quickly and quietly. As I came out of the bathroom, Lydia came up the dark stair case. She glared at me as she passed me. I watched her walk into her room and close the door. I slipped back into my room with a sigh. I climbed onto my bed and went over to the window. I looked out onto the deserted street. The lamp posts were all light and the street was illuminated by a soft yellow glow. I looked to the left of my window and could see the park a couple of streets away. I sighed at the memories that I now have of that park. I closed the curtains and climbed into my bed. I looked to the clock and saw that it was now 11:50pm. I flicked my alarm on and rolled on to my back. Staring at the ceiling above me I smiled and laughed mutely to myself.

I began to play the date back in my head. I arrived and saw him looking at me. He looked amazing and had a beautiful aura around him. “You look beautiful” he told me and I blushed suddenly as I said “Thank you”. He asked “Shall we go in?”And held out his hand. I nodded and placed my hand in his as we walked inside. My heart was beating so fast and I felt so nervous. My stomach had a million butterflies fluttering around inside it. I offered to get the tickets and he agreed but forced me to use his money which I did begrudgingly. I bought the tickets and went back to him. He told me to buy whatever ‘snacks’ I wanted. So I bought large popcorn to share. He was laughing as I walked back to him. This made me feel nervous. “What’s so funny?” I asked him. “Nothing. I just can’t believe I’m here with you” He said to me. My heart began to soar at his words. I blushed and smiled at him. I told him the name of the film and we walked into the cinema. “Were shall we sit?” I asked him. He told me
