Chapter 6
Oriana
“Mum...I’m home” I called through the house as I closed the door behind me. My lips were tingling with a reminder of the kiss Blake had just given me on the door step. It was soft and slow but passionate. My hand reached for my mouth and with my finger I traced around the outline of my lips. I smiled and giggled silently to myself.
“Some ones happy” My mum said with a smile in her voice. I looked up to find her leaning against the doorframe to the living room. My face heated up and my cheeks turned bright red. I shrugged gently and walked over to her. “I had an amazing time” I whispered to her. She laughed and pulled me into a warm embrace. I hugged her back and laughed with her.
I pulled away and kissed her gently on the cheek before turning and walking up the stairs. “I’m gonna go take a shower and go to bed” I said to my mum turning slightly on the 3rd step. She smiled and nodded before walking back into the living room to a loud TV programme.
I took the rest of the stairs 2-by-2. Dashing into the bathroom, I smacked my foot on the side of the shower and yelled out in pain. “SHIT” I yelled, hoping mum hadn’t heard me. Turning around I closed and locked the door. My pyjamas were still hanging on the hook behind the door from this morning. My toes began to sting a blood was forming under my toe nails. I pushed that out of my mind and stripped my body of my clothes, placing them in the dirty washing basket. I climbed into the shower. The hot water hit my skin and sent shivers running through my body from top to bottom. I smiled lightly and closed my eyes, letting the water run over every inch of my body.
I slid down the side of the shower and sat on the floor. The water still gushed over me and washed my toes from blood. I watched as a thin strip of blood trickled down towards the drain. I closed my eyes. Dimitri’s face appeared. I opened my eyes and shook his image from my head. I had one date with him and he ruined any chance of anything happening. I was over the player and wanted to be with Blake. I leaned my head back against the door and envisioned Blake. I closed my eyes again. Blake’s image disappeared and Dimitri’s face filled my head again. Opening my eyes, I stood up and shut the shower off.
I stepped out, dried my body, pulled my pyjamas on and left the bathroom, flicking the light of behind me. I walked down the hall and walked straight passed my room and knocked on Lydia’s door. I wanted to stop the fighting and get on with my life. Everything seemed to be working out now.
Knock, knock, knock. “Come in” Lydia answered after I knocked on the door. I breathed deeply and pulled on the handle opening the door. I poked my head around the door to find Lydia tucked up in bed with her laptop on her lap. “What do you want?” She asked scowling at me. I moved further in the door and closed it softly behind me. I walked over to her bed and perched on the very edge. “I want to make a truce” I told her. She raised her eyebrows and questioned my motives. “Why? Because I want to be able to talk to you about everything and anything, like we used to. And I’m sick of fighting with you” I told her in a rush. She looked down at her laptop and considered my request.
I looked around her small room. The walls were a vibrant yellow with aluminous orange splodges on. Her desk, bed and wardrobe were all made from a light wood and stood at separate places around the room. Her window was on the wall above her bed. Orange curtains hung from a wooden curtain pole, and matching sheets were spread across her soft bed.
