Chapter 7

Dimitri

I walked into the school. My eyes scanned over everyone in sight. I couldn’t see her anywhere. I walked down the hall way my eyes peeled. I reached the end of the hall and turned back to see if she had entered behind me. She hadn’t. I sighed and turned right down the hallway and continued my search for her.

I ran my hand through my hair with my eyes on the ground. I looked up and spotted her straight away. The hall way was practically empty as it was only a side one with a few lockers lining the walls. I stopped in my tracks and stared down the long hallway and looked at her.

“Oriana. We need to talk” I called down the hall to her. She sighed and I walked, quicker than before, towards her. I reached her and she had her head in her locker. She leaned out, picked up books and roughly shoved them in her bag. ‘Oh hell she’s in a mood’ I thought. She slammed closed the locker and turned towards me. “What do you want Dimitri?” She asked in a cold blank voice.

I sighed and ran my hand over my face and through my hair. ‘Shit she’s in a mod with me’ I thought to myself. I glanced around me at the few passing people. They were staring at Oriana as they walked, giving her confused looks. I knew exactly why they were looking at her and completely ignoring me. I should’ve stopped this ages ago. Stopped it before it began. But I couldn’t. I was far too involved.

I turned back towards Oriana and her expressionless face. It was smooth and blank. I couldn’t see what was underneath. She’d covered her true feelings too well. “I’m waiting” she stated in the same harsh tone. I breathed in and breathed out slowly.

“Look Oriana. I know you don’t want to believe me but Blake isn’t who he says he is” I pleaded. She rolled her eyes, crossed her arms and leant against the lockers. I reached forward to touch her arm. But she slipped out of reach and stood back. “Why?” She asked frowning.

“Why what?” I asked a little confused. She rolled her eyes again.

“Why don’t you want me to be with Blake?” She asked.

“Do you want to be with him?” I asked buying some time to think of a reasonable answer. “I don’t know” she sighed. “But I’d like to find out. Considering you kicked me to the kerb” she huffed slightly.

I sighed and reached out to her again. This time she didn’t flinch or move away. She just stood there and let me stroke her cheek. She leaned against my hand and breathed in my scent. “I do want you. I want to see what we could have” I whispered softly. Her head moved in a small nodding motion against my hand. “Look, will you meet me tonight?” I asked removing my hand and speaking louder. She looked at me sceptically. “Why?” she asked. I ran my hand through my already messy hair and sighed. “I can explain Blake” I whispered. She moaned but I stared at her intently. “Fine. I’ll meet you at the pond in the park at 8. And don’t be late” she sighed giving in. I smiled “I won’t” I replied with a smile.

“Oriana, hey your gonna be late for class” Blake called down the hallway. Oriana tarred her eyes away from mine and I stiffened slightly clenching my jaw tight. He reached us and slipped an arm around her waist. “Come on then” He told her pulling her down the hall towards her science class. She reluctantly went with him. I glared at Blake and he glared back. Oriana turned “8 o’clock” she mouthed to me and I nodded. She smiled before disappearing behind a class room door and closing it behind her.
