Hey everyone! I go back to school tomorrow after my easter break so i wanted to get one more upload up at least. I hope you like this chapter. I think it is a little bit of a filler chapter but it does show you how Lydia is coping with Oriana being gone for so long and it doesn't look to great. I hope you enjoy it and let me know what you think: comment, vote, fan??

Chapter Nineteen
Lydia
“Eeerrggg” I moaned as I slammed yet another un-helpful book down onto the table in front of me. I flopped back in my chair and groaned in frustration. Dimitri looked up from the book he was hovering over and stared at me. We were sitting in the very back corner of the library where no one could see us or hear us. “We’ll find something soon” he mumbled as he flicked the page of his book over lazily.
I hung my head over the back of the chair and stared up at the ceiling. The ceiling was suspended high over our heads and created a domed shape with small circular widows around the top, spilling fresh are and sunlight into the room.
I sat back up slowly and cleared my throat. “Dimitri” I whispered and he looked up at me. “Yes?” he asked. I swallowed.
“Today is Saturday October eighth right?” I asked him wringing my hands in my lap. He cocked an eyebrow and looked at me. “Yes it is. Why?” he asked with a really cute confused expression. “Well Oriana turns seventeen next Saturday and I was hoping she would be home for her birthday. We have a week; do you think we can do it?” I asked him quietly. He sat back and folded his arms. “I forgot her birthday was on the fifteenth” he whispered looking at his folded arms. He suddenly leant forward and reached out his hand encasing mine with his. “I don’t know if we will get her pack by next Saturday, but I promise it will be soon” he smiled sadly. I nodded and he sat back.
We spent the rest of the day flicking through the pages until closing time and a small squat lady came shuffling towards us. She looked at me completely oblivious to the dead guy sitting across from me. “Hello dear. I’m sorry but you’ll have to leave now we close in five minuets. But by all means take out any of these books” she said smiling happily and indicating the small piles of books. I nodded. “Thank you” I mumbled as I stood up. She nodded and spoke one last time. “I’ll see you at the counter”. I nodded again and turned around to the books.
I selected a few that I hadn’t finished looking in and placed the others on a trolley as I walked towards the counter, Dimitri trailing behind invisible to all but me. The old lady smiled as I placed my selected five books onto the counter. “Doing a project dear?” she asked scanning the first couple of books. I shrugged. “Something like that” I mumbled back. She finished scanning and stamping the return date into the books and I placed them neatly into my rucksack I bought from home. I handed over my library card and waited as she scanned it and handed it back. “Have a good night dear” she smiled and waved as I reached the door. I turned back and waved slightly. “You too” I said before ducking out the door with Dimitri behind me.
We walked in silence to the end of the road before coming to a T junction. “Same time tomorrow?” I asked and Dimitri grimaced rubbing the back of his neck. I frowned. “What?” He looked at me and sighed.
“I’m gonna stay home tomorrow and do some digging there. I mean I can look through the internet and see if my dad has any old books form when he was obsessed with all this super natural stuff” he said waving his hand dismissively.
“And what will I do?” I asked looking down. He placed his hands on my shoulders and smiled. “You have five books in that bag of yours. Take a break tomorrow and then read a book a day or something. You have been spending far too much time in the library lately and it’s time you got a bit of your life back” he smiled. I began to object but he shook his head. “No, I’ll do some ‘independent research’ and you just read a book a day or something” he finalized making air quotes around independent research. I sighed and nodded sort of liking the idea of a day of.
