AALIYAH TAYLOR

|||

ABOUT AN HOUR later, Faith and I were seated in front of the T.V, watching "2 Hearts," a movie that was probably one of the saddest I'd ever seen. Before the movie, I had allowed Faith to pluck my eyebrows, and she allowed me to do hers; then we both applied a clay mask. By the end of the movie, both Faith and I were completely in tears.

"What the hell happened to you two?" We heard Laurelle ask as she walked into the living room.

I wiped my tears with the back of my hand, looking over at Faith who was still bawling her eyes out.

"We watched a movie called "2 Hearts"." I answered.

"I'm guessing it was a sad one." Laurelle said, attempting to hold in her laughter.

I nodded.

Laurelle let out a chuckle as she walked over to the couch, plopping herself right in between Faith and I. Shifting to the right, I offered Laurelle a small smile.

"We should watch a horror movie." Laurelle said.

"Sure, just let Aaliyah and I wash these off." Faith replied, referring to the masks we were wearing.

Faith got out of her spot, walking to the bathroom, and I quickly followed behind her. Allowing Faith to wash her mask off first, I set myself on the bathroom counter.

"I can tell you don't like Laurelle." Faith said randomly.

"Huh?" I raised an eyebrow at her.

"Every time she comes around, you close yourself off, you keep your conversation with her to a minimum and you're always trying to find a way out of the same room as her." Faith explained.

"Don't worry, I'm not very fond of her, either." She added.

I chuckled.

"Why not?" I questioned.

"Not sure, there's just something about her." Faith said.

I decided to drop the conversation, changing the topic back to the movie we had just watched. Although we were upset with the way things ended, Faith and I really enjoyed the movie, and I knew it would take us a few days to get over it completely. When Faith had washed off her mask, I walked over to the sink and did the same.

"You know we don't have to watch a movie with Laurelle if you don't want to." Faith said, but I dismissed her.

"It's fine, how bad could it really be?" I said, which caused Faith to laugh.

We walked back out to the living room, where Laurelle was now sitting with Eli. His smile widened when he seen Faith and I.

"I heard we're watching a horror movie." Eli said, causing Faith to roll her eyes.

"Oh God." Faith muttered under her breath.

"Hey Eli." I said, plopping myself down into the couch beside him.

"Hey." He said, wrapping an arm around my shoulder.

Faith sat on the other side of Eli and he threw his other arm around her, pulling her into him. Laurelle left the room to get some popcorn, and not long after, Reid and Jon walked into the living room.

"Get your hands off of my sister, Eli." Reid said lowly, and Eli instantly removed his arm from Faith.

I bit down on my lip to stop myself from laughing while Faith and Jon fell into a fit of laughter. Faith announced that we'd be watching a movie, and suggested Reid and Jon join us. They accepted; Reid taking the empty seat next to me, and Jon ending up on the floor. When Laurelle came back, we chose a movie. We ended up choosing "The Exorcist."

Not long after the movie started, Laurelle, Jon and Eli were all sleeping, which left only Reid, Faith and I awake.

"I'm super tired, I think I'm going to go to bed now." Faith said as she faked a yawn.

My head snapped to her direction, my eyes wide. Faith wore a small smirk, an eyebrow raised. "Have fun." Faith mouthed before quickly leaving and making her way to her room. Reid looked over at me, a small smile on his face.

"I have a business trip coming up in a few weeks." Reid said.

I already knew that, though, and I was almost one hundred percent sure Reid knew that I knew.

"I know." I answered softly.

"I want you to come with me." He said, and I looked up at him.

I couldn't tell if he was being serious or not.

"Seriously?" I questioned.

He nodded, not giving me a verbal response. I pondered on the idea. I had left the country very few times with my parents; all of which I was younger. I looked up at Reid.

"I'll think about it. You don't leave for another three and a half weeks anyways." I said, and he nodded.

"Very well then." He said.

We sat in front of the T.V. for another thirty minutes or so, until a yawn left my lips. I turned to Reid, who was invested in the movie that was still playing.

"I think I'm going to go to bed now." I said softly just before another yawn left my lips.

Reid nodded, looking over at me.

"Goodnight Cara." Reid said.

(Dear.)

"Goodnight Reid." With that, I made my way up to my room.
