AALIYAH TAYLOR

A FEW DAYS had passed since that night with Reid, and I now found myself sitting at my desk early on this sunny Monday morning. I had been avoiding Reid since that night for obvious reasons, the main one being I didn't trust myself around him and would most likely find myself in the same situation I was in a few nights ago.
I was typing away at my computer when a knock sounded at the door. Without looking up, I called out to whoever was on the other side of the door.
"Come in!"
The door swung open, revealing a smiling Tiffany. She was wearing a bright yellow summer dress along with a black blazer. Her hair was pulled into a high ponytail, sporting a light pink color on her plump lips. In one hand, she held a coffee cup, and in the other she held a small white paper bag.
"Good morning, I got you breakfast!" Tiffany beamed, walking into the office.
"Morning Tiff. Thank you." I smiled as she handed me the cup and bag.
"No problem, are we still on for lunch today?" Tiffany asked.
"Of course!" I confirmed, causing Tiffany to smile.
"Alright, I'll see you later then!" She said before walking out of the office.
Once Tiffany had left, I resumed with my work, occasionally taking small sips and bites from my breakfast.
A few hours passed and before I knew it, Tiffany and I were on our way to lunch. We ended up at a small Greek restaurant a few blocks away from the office. We had already ordered, and we were currently waiting for the waiter to bring our food out.
"How was your weekend? I meant to call you since you didn't show up to work on Friday, but I got caught up with some stuff." Tiffany said as we ate.
"It was good, pretty uneventful." I lied right through my teeth.
Tiffany seemed to believe my lie and went on to telling me about her weekend. Luckily, she hadn't noticed that I'd blanked out soon after she began her story, the events of the weekend replaying in my head over and over again.
The lunch hour went by fast, and before I knew it, I was back at my desk staring at my computer screen. I couldn't function properly, my mind had been blank the whole day and I wasn't able to pay attention to anything. Suddenly, a knock sounded from the door. I invited whoever was on the other side in, instantly regretting it when Reid walked in.
"Good afternoon, Mr. Braxton." I said, causing Reid to smirk.
"I think we're far past the formalities, Aaliyah." His smirk only grew when I rolled my eyes.
"Did you need something?" I inquired, raising an eyebrow.
"Ah, right. You're free to leave." Reid told me, and I couldn't tell if he was serious or joking.
"I don't finish for another three hours." I said matter-of-factly.
"I know, but you need to get ready."
"For?"
"A business partner of mine is hosting a party tonight, and you'll be attending. Faith's called a team to help you get ready." Reid informed me, causing me to nod.
"Okay.." I said.
"Robin should be outside in a few minutes." With that, Reid spun on his heels and walked out of the office.
