CHAPTER NINETEEN
THE SUSPICION
⋘ ──── ∗ ⋅◈⋅ ∗ ──── ⋙

"The beauty of public offices..." Mia trailed off as she waved a blueprint before placing it on the table. Rolling it out and revealing the layout of the police station that they had visited yesterday. "public records."

"This is where he's keeping the money, in a vault in the evidence room," Brian told them, pointing at the spot before looking up at the team.

After a brief moment, Tej cleared his throat. "Um, ay, yeah. Can I get everyone's attention right here for a second?" He asked as the group did as he asked. "We're talking about breaking into a police station." Tej reminded them, emphasizing the last two words of his sentence. "Is anyone listening to those words, anybody? Po-po, five-oh, one-time, pigs, people we don't like."

Tanya rubbed her temple out of annoyance as she closed her eyes. "Yeah, Tej, we get it." She muttered as a few of the members snickered in amusement.

"You know, police stations are designed to keep people in, not out." Han pointed out as Brian leaned against the table. "That's why it's a stealth mission. We'll be in and out before they even know we were there." Brian explained as he glanced at his sister.

Tanya nodded. "The next part is the hardest since we have to get eyes in the evidence room." She added as her eyes reopened. "At least to find out the make and model of that vault," Dom added, glancing at Brian.

It was a simple plan and could be executed perfectly if they played it right. Believe it or not, Tanya had quite a bit of faith in the team despite her skills being way above them. They all had their own level of expertise and skills that contributed to the team.

"So the vault, and then..." Roman mumbled as he motioned with his hand recounting the plan. Sniffling slightly as he placed his hand under his chin. "It's crazy." He muttered before motioning to the blueprint. "Who's supposed to do all this?"

The group was silent, glancing amongst one another. But when they all looked back at Roman, his expression fell. Realization hitting him as he slowly sat up from his slumped position.

"What- what do you mean? Why me?" He questions as Brian smirked. "'Cause you got the biggest mouth." He replied as Tanya chuckled. "And can think of some bullshit way to get something done." She added Roman huffed in annoyance.

"That's for damn sure," Tej muttered as Dom stood up. "Tanya, we'll need you to go in there with him." He told the blonde who frowned. "Why do I have to go with him?" She questioned incredulously. "Well, because you still have some authority out here. You can get us in no problem." Brian explained as Tanya inhaled deeply before exhaling. "Fine. Roman, dress something remotely close to professional." She huffed before turning and walking away.
