CHAPTER FOUR
OLD FRIEND
⋘ ──── ∗ ⋅◈⋅ ∗ ──── ⋙

Tanya sat on one of the balconies watching the play in France. Her eyes glued to the target that she and the team were after. It wasn't related to trying to figure out why the Russian's were after Brian, but Tanya needed something to get her mind off stuff. Ana was with a babysitter and understood that Tanya had a job to do and didn't even protest about it.

A tight black dress gracing her body as her hair was pulled back. Her bangs against her forehead and two strands of hair on their side of her face. The plan had been very simple and Tanya knew it like the back of her hand.

Wait for the target by the name of, George Baltor to exit the theatre and approach him. Luke and the others will have a path cleared out for her when she goes in and knocks the man out. Exfil the target and mission is done. Simple as red wine.

There were no worst-case scenarios in this situation. Luke and the other four would be dressed as guards waiting for George to enter the nearest bathroom and let Tanya know. Once she had knocked the man out, it was very simple, keep prying eyes from the halls and escort her out and it was done. Not to mention that it would be done during a play and everything would be good from there.

This was what Tanya needed to just clear her mind from the recent events. Free from Ana who was doing well in her new home, and just from the whole case with her brother. As much as she wanted to ask him what he did to piss the Russian's off, she didn't want to put him in more danger. That would cause more problems and not to mention that she didn't have the confidence to face him after so long.

"Weird seeing you here, Tanya."

The voice made the woman tense noticeably as she didn't even look at the man. Already knowing who it was by the rough tone of voice. "Deckard." She greeted gently as the man adjusted his suit jacket and took a seat beside her.

Deckard had known each other and had met each other for around 2 years. They had run into people on missions of their own, both relating the same outcome. Killing their targets. So, Tanya was questioning how convenient it was to run into the man here.

"Russian's put a hit on my head?" She asked finally looking over at the man. "Come to kill me?" Tanya questioned further as the man turned to her and smiled. "Wouldn't ever want to do such a thing, love."

His smooth and silky tone made the hairs on the back of Tanya's neck stand up. The rather suggestive tone was made known instantly by Tanya since she had heard it quite a few times. Remembering all the countless times they had shared a bed together. One of them leaving before the other woke up.

It was a rather complicated history between them, sure one of them had feelings for the other, but neither would say anything. In their line of work, it was never a good idea to made friends or lovers. That left them a blind spot that would result in them needing to cut all ties off. Only be by themselves and be happy by themselves.

Tanya sighed as she looked back at the stage where the play was taking place. "George Baltor. He's my target." Deckard announced and Tanya bit the inside of her cheek. So, now it was all making sense as to why he was here and how convenient it was.

Just one mission did Tanya take off from her main problems and her ex/one-night stand was there to kill her main target. This was going to cause problems for her and Luke if he successfully did complete his mission.

"Why are you here?" He asked as he watched the play as well. The pair's legs crossed as they didn't even make eye contact. "The play. Don't get much time like this to enjoy the good things in life." She stated earning a little chuckle from the man.

Subtly, her eyes glanced at George who was standing up from his seat and leaving his balcony all the way across the theatre. Tanya stood from her spot and held her purse close to her. "It was good seeing you, Shaw." She said quietly before exiting the balcony.

Her heels clicking across the white marble floors as she stood out from the red-painted walls. "We have an assassin in the building. One of you has to extract him." She said into her earpiece as she tried to get down the stairs quickly.

Successfully doing so before being shoved into a wall. Grunting in pain and spinning around and finding Deckard going for a punch. Quickly, Tanya ducked it and kicked him in the stomach.

Deckard grabbed her leg and tossed her across the floor. Sliding across the floor and hitting a marble beam with a groan. "You shouldn't be here, Tanya." He said as he marched towards her. Tanya rebutted with kicking his legs out and straddling him. "Don't do this, Deck."

Being flipped onto her back, Deckard went for a punch, but Tanya dodged it. Grabbing ahold of his wrist and twisting it and kicking him in the face. Wrapping her legs around his arms and wrenching on it towards her and releasing a pained groan. Knowing if she pulled hard enough, she snaps his arm out of place. She knew Deckard wasn't dumb and wouldn't risk that so, she was hoping he would submit quickly.

Feeling her high heels being taken off and one being stabbed into her leg. A cry wanting to be released, but a strangled groan taking its place. Letting go of the man's a,r Tanya ripped the heel from her thigh and tossed it to the side.

Deckard taking a few steps back as Tanya did the same with her other heel. Doing her best at ignoring the pain pulsating through her leg and the warm crimson liquid dripping down her leg. "Tanya, the target is exfil. Where are you?" Luke's voice said and Tanya raised her hand, taunting Deckard.

Charging at her, Deckard slammed her into the wall behind her releasing a pained groan. Tanya countered by elbowing his back and kneeing him in the face. Using all the strength she had left to do a spinning hook kick as he stumbled back. Planting her feet firmly to the ground spinning with as much speed and force she could muster.

Her foot colliding with his face and knocking him to the ground. That was enough for her as she held her thigh while running as fast as her body would allow her. Trying her best to close the distance between her and Deckard.

Tanya stumbled down another set of stairs before losing her footing and falling. Biting her lips and suppressing the cry wanting to escape. Getting to her feet reluctantly, Tanya continued to run and soon made it to the front. Finding Chato waiting patiently with urgent eyes, but his body showing he was composed.

He spotted her and was quick to be at her side and help her out of the building. "What happened?" He asked as the cold wind hit Tanya's bare arms. Cars driving by the front of the theatre and the black SUV belonging to him and Tanya not far down the sidewalk. "Had a little dance." She said with a groan as Chato made her lean against the SUV as he opened the passenger door.

Helping her inside, Chato waited until she was settled inside before he shut the door and rushed to driver's side and hopped in. "Tanya is with me. We're leaving now. Make sure we got some doctors ready." He told Luke as he started the SUV and cut into traffic. Honks from cars behind them being heard, but being ignored by the two D.S.S. agents.

"Tanya, what happened?" Luke asked, his voice neutral but a hidden worried tone could be heard. Tanya glanced in the side mirror and saw Deckard in his nice black suit step out of the building glancing left and right in search of her. "Saw an old friend." She stated simply. A bitter taste on her tongue as she removed her eyes from Deckard.
