The smell of smoke filled Tanya's senses as she looked over the edge of the bridge. Finding her attention drawn to the water far below. Already having talked to the Interpol that infested the entire destruction on the bridge. Road charred from the fires that had been finally put under control hours ago when the news came to Tanya and Luke. British Convey had been intercepted and many of the content was stolen by their mystery thieves.
But there was barely any amount of interest Tanya could put into it as she had been drowned in her thoughts for weeks and even months. Hoping that work would give her space and time to think. She couldn't even stay home and look at her kids as she would just be reminded of the baby that died in her stomach. A chance for her to feel fulfillment in her life.
And don't get it twisted, Tanya was happy to be able to call Sam and Anya her daughters. But they weren't her biological children. She didn't bring them into this world and she sure as hell didn't get to raise them from babies. It was very different for Tanya as she wanted to have that experience, but it had been taken away from her. All because of the selfless risks she took for the ones she loved.
"Tanya," Luke's voice shook the woman from her lifeless stare. Turning to be greeted by the man and a woman by his side. "How are you doing?"
"As good as you can get," Tanya replied curtly. "Hi, Tanya O'Conner. A pleasure to meet you." She shook the other woman's hand.
"Riley Hicks," the woman greeted with a polite smile. "The pleasure is all mine, ma'am."
"Found any further info?" Luke cut in. "No," Tanya replied, shoving her hands in her jean pockets. "Only the fact that satellite component was stolen and the cars were in and out. And that."
They followed her finger towards a police vehicle stuck in the side of a nearby building wall. A crane hook carefully tries to pull the said vehicle out without causing any more destruction. Something that seemed impossible, but clearly had been proven wrong in the latest hours of the night.
"How the hell did that get up there?" Riley inquired. "No idea," Tanya sighed. "But pretty good ingenuity for whoever did it."
"They caught one," Riley spoke up, looking up from her pager. "Where?" Luke questioned.
"Interpol Headquarters," she replied. "Brought him in not too long ago."
Tanya sighed, clapping her hands together. "Then that's where we go," she announced. "I'll meet you two there."
