CHAPTER TWENTY
FACE TO FACE
⋘ ──── ∗ ⋅◈⋅ ∗ ──── ⋙

Tanya had never known if she was built to be a parent. There had always been that ounce of doubt in the back of her mind that had held her back from the idea of it. She didn't want her kids to turn out just like she has and ruin their lives. She wanted them to experience the same childhood she had and have fun as they should. It was what they deserved since they had to deal with both their parents being gone and working.

It may have been Luke who got her out of her comfort zone and actually started trying to raise Ana and Samantha. When she first took in Ana, it was supposed to be for a temporary thing. Until that attachment, Tanya grew for the young girl prevented her from leaving her. Just deciding on adopting the young girl and taking her in as her own. Willing to do anything for the girl who lost her biological mother.

But with a child of her own growing in her womb, that was scary. Tanya was excited, but she was scared as well. It must've been just her nerves getting to her and she knew how to combat it, but she couldn't stop it. It just felt natural for her to have these excited yet anxious thoughts. Deep down, she was smiling gleefully in excitement of what was to come.

"Okay, O'Conner." Dom's voice projected from the loudspeakers that drew Tanya from her thoughts. Blinking a few times before looking up from her wedding ring. "Give it your best shot." He announced before his voice cut off on the p.a. system.

The roaring sound of the bright blue Porshe could be heard as it barrelled around the corner down the long narrow driveway. The tire's squealing as it took the right and started drifting as it started the first curve of the hairpin. Narrowly missing Dom's '70 Charger as it did the last turn and came to a screeching halt.

Dust knocking up as the engine of the vehicle shut down with the driver-side door opening. Brian emerging as he rested his hand on the top of the glass window. "How was that one?" He asked.

Han shook his head as he tossed a chip into his mouth. "Camera caught you."

"What?" Brian frowned as he shut the car door. "It still caught you," Han replied with a shrug as Brian moved up the steps of the platform everyone was standing on. "Man, I was milking the hell out of that thing, too." He told Dom who nodded.

"We're gonna need a faster car."

And that's what they did. They got a Supra that was gloss black and definitely maneuvered the hairpin efficiently. Then they got a Nissan 370z that was doing good, but neither vehicle was meeting up to their expectations. Each person did their run of the track except Tanya. She was still caught up in the thoughts of her own problems to even worry about it.
