Plot: Taehyung is still in love with Jungkook even though the younger doesn't feel the same way. But later, Tae hears a song that reminds him of what happened...

Author's POV

Taehyung has been in love with Jungkook for a long time. They've dated for a while a long time ago, but the relationship didn't last over a month. The younger was just simply not interested in the older.

Tae knew that it was helpless to keep loving the younger, and it also hurt himself if he still continued to love someone that didn't love him back. So he decides to let go, little by little.

"Hey Ko-Jungkook," Tae smiled a little, lucky for him the younger smiled back and waved hello

"Hey hyung," Though Jungkook smiled, he seemed a little awkward around the older

"Umm...So, I know we dating and all that before, but we can still be f-friends, right?" Taehyung hesitantly asked, hoping that Jungkook would say 'yes' or something

"I-I don't know hyung, I jus-"

"I see..." he interrupted, "It's fine Jungkook, we don't have to be friends if you don't want to. I understand that it can be a bit uncomfortable," Taehyung painfully smiled, but didn't show it of course

"Thanks for understanding hyung-"

"Yah Jungkook-ah you coming?"

"Oh I gotta go, umm, see you around I guess," Jungkook waved towards Tae before running to his friend group, showing his bright bunny smile.

'I guess being friends isn't an option either...' he thought, sighing before heading home for the day

"I should probably get rid of these in my room if I wanna forget and let go of him..." Taehyung couldn't bring himself to get rid of the things that reminded him of Jungkook, so he called his best friend Jimin to come over to help him.

"Wow Tae, you're really ready to let go?" Jimin asked, patting his best friend on the back as they sat on Tae's bed

"I mean...there's nothing for me to do to keep him close to me. We dated, it clearly didn't work, I tried to talk to him afterward but it was never more than a few words. I tried asking if we can still be friends even though we've dated and he's clearly not comfortable. All this time it's been one-sided love Jimin hyung. And I've predicted that this is what was gonna happen, so yes, I'm going to try my best to let go, and forget him." Tae smiled bitterly afterward, tears welled in his eyes but he controlled them, not letting them fall out

"I see...I'm sorry Tae, this is all so-"

"Ah ah, don't talk to me about him, I want to be able to let go. At some point in life, this will happen to me anyways. And hyung, I brought you over here to help me, not talk to me about him," Jimin laughed and stood up

"Alright, alright then, let's start getting rid of stuff that reminds you of him."

{After cleaning Tae's room}

"Wahh, we're done,"

"Omg that took longer than I expected," Tae laughed, scratching the back of his neck

"Oh I have to go now Tae, I have a class in the few mins,"

"Okay, thank you for coming hyung,"

"Of course Tae bear, see you tomorrow!"

"See you..." Tae was not all that happy to go to school tomorrow. He knows that he'll see Jungkook and be tempted to stare at him which Kook will notice. So he's going to try his best to ignore the younger.

{The next day, at school}

"Hey Jungkook-ah"

"Yea hyung?" Jungkook asked, walking toward's Jin's table in the cafeteria

"Did you notice how Tae didn't stare at you all day today? And how he I don't know, seemed like he's ignoring you or something."

"Eh, I don't care, I mean I know he liked me, probably still does, maybe he's trying to get my attention by ignoring me. I don't know either, but for now, I like the quietness, normally he would try and get me to talk to him,"

"Why don't you like the kid? He's nice, good looking, smart, athletic, I mean, he's like the full package deal bun,"

"I-I don't know, he just...*sigh* I just don't like him like that okay?"

"Alright, whatever you say," Jin shrugged and went back to eating, Jungkook, on the other hand, rolled his eyes and sat down, munching on his food as well

{Over at Tae's table}

"How's it going with ignoring Jungkook?"

"Okay I guess, but he's literally everywhere, trying to make it not obvious that I'm avoiding him is hard. Literally, you'll never understand how hard it is to ignore someone until you do it," Tae fake cried and opened his lunch, and started eating
"What if he thinks that I'm avoiding him or attention or something? That'll make me look like a-"

"Tae, stop overthinking man, normal people won't think like this," Yoongi interrupted

"Heyy, are you saying that I'm not normal?"

"You aren't normal. You're a fricking alien," all three of the boys laughed after hearing what Yoongi said, maybe forgetting Jungkook won't be so hard after all

{3 weeks later}

Tae was walking home alone with his earbuds in his ears. Listening to a random playlist he found on Spotify and suddenly a song reminds him of Jungkook.
He only smiled and continued listening to the song, trying his best to not cry. He wanted to skip the song and play something else, but when music speaks to you, and you can relate, it's kind of hard to do so.

After the song, he continued walking home. Greeting his parents, talking and chatting with his friends. Continuing the life he had that doesn't involve Jungkook because he suffered from one-sided love...

Okay so the song is in Chinese, and after I heard it, It gave me the idea of incorporating it into this requested story. Hope you all enjoyed it!
