Mona and Aria kinda of stretched the truth a little bit when they told Ava how they meet some of it was true like Mona moving from Asia to the untied states but here's what really happened its junior year of high school they didn't meet in freshman year of high school

Mona is the new girl at rosewood high school and she's sitting in principal Simpson's office he called down Aria to show Mona around the school then Aria walks in
'Hey, principal Simpson' Aria says, Mona and Leona looks at her and Mona smiles because in her mind hello eye candy
'Aria Montgomery this Mona Vanderwaal and her mother Leona Vanderwaal they just moved from Asia and Mona has taught herself English when she learned that she was moving to the untied states, which is impressive' principal Simpson says, Mona smiles
'Thank you principal Simpson' Mona says
Aria looks at them, her and Mona makes eye contact and she gets butterflies Aria smiles at her and Mona smiles back then winks at her and then looks at principle Simpson to see what he's talking about
'Well Mrs. Vanderwaal Aria is going to show Mona around the school and I'll walk you to your car, Aria here's Mona's school schedule' principal Simpson says, he hands her Mona's schedule, Aria takes it and looks at it, Mona and Leona gets up
'Well we have some of the same classes' Aria says
'Wonderful, Mrs. Vanderwaal will you follow me please' principal Simpson says, Leona looks at Mona
'I'll see you at home, have a good day' Leona says, Mona smiles
'I Will mama' Mona says, they both kiss each other on the cheek and hugs then Leona and principal Simpson leaves, Mona walks up to Aria
'This should be fun' Mona says, in flirty tone, Aria smiles
'I appreciate the flirting but i have a girlfriend' Aria says
'I figure that you would because you seem like a good catch, she's lucky to have you' Mona says, Aria smiles
'Thank you, should we get started?' Aria asks, Mona smiles
'As they say follow the leader' Mona says, Aria smiles
'Alright follow me' Aria says, they leave

'You and mom seem pretty close' Aria says, Mona smiles

'I'm we're close but not as close as you and mom are' Aria says
'Probably because I'm a only child, do you have any brothers or sisters that you have to share the attention with?' Mona asks
'Yeah, a brother his name is Mike and just like you he's a total flirt too' Aria says, Mona chuckles
'I really am sorry about that' Mona says, Aria smiles
