We're at a wedding, and I'm happy that the newlyweds liked him. I almost begged in insisting on having him as a wedding singer, and I'm not wrong in doing so. Saying that they will never regret having him is effective. At least it's not my pay on the line, or else it's a gamble. But I know that I'll win if that happens.
My phone is ringing; it's my boyfriend. I'm glad he calls me whenever he has time. If he only knows how much I miss him.
"Hi babe. How are you? How's your day?" He asked, and I began telling him about my day. If I can only teleport, I will go wherever he is and hug him. They say that absence makes the heart grow fonder, but little they know, it can make you crazy, too.
"I miss you, too. I love you, babe. Take care." That has been my standard closing remarks for the phone calls he makes whenever he's busy. I can't help it; we're both working people.
I saw Al walking. When did he appear? Is he about to approach me and just turned back?
"Al." I called out. He paused and turned to me. I walked towards him so I could give a comment. "The newlyweds liked your singing."
"Gee, thanks."
"I just saw you walking - "
"I was about to ask you if you want something. But you were on the phone, so I walked back."
He has that shy look on his face again. And I am right; he just turned back when he saw me on the phone.
