Thirteen years old.
Kurt was terrified of telling everyone.
Blaine was the only person that he could guess their reaction, since they had talked about it before. But everyone else was a complete mystery.
He wanted to tell people, he wanted to shout it from the rooftops, but he didn't want to lose the people closest to him.
He had kept the secret to himself for over a year, and while it got easier to hide it, it also got harder. Sometimes he found himself almost blurting it out, when he was watching tv with Blaine, when he was sitting in English with Noah, when he was playing video games with Jeff, when Wes was helping him with biology, when he was with his dad at the shop, when he was baking with his mom. But he never did it, fear always stopped him.
"Hello, earth tae Kurt? [Hello, Earth to Kurt?]" Someone said someone said while waving their hand in front of Kurt's eyes. Kurt focused on his surroundings, seeing Noah staring at him, thanking god he had gotten over his crush on Noah.
"Sorry, what's up?" Kurt asked, smiling apologetically at all of his friends.
"We were just talking about next year." Jeff said. "Since we're going into high school."
"Oh, does anyone know what high school they're going to?"
"Me and Jeff and going to Dalton, it's an all-boys private boarding school." Wes told them. "It would be good if you guys could go to it, but you need to pay to go, so I don't know what your parents would say."
"A mean, my parents huvnae decided whit school am goin' tae, so a cuid always ask aboot Dalton. [I mean, my parents haven't decided what school I'm going to, so I could always ask about Dalton.]" Noah said.
"Same with me and Kurt." Blaine told them.

"Are we going to ask our parents about Dalton?" Blaine asked when they were sitting in his room, doing homework together.
"We probably should." Kurt said lightly.
"We should do it right now, before they pick another high school for us to go to." Blaine said to him. "Do you think they'll say yes to Dalton?"
"I don't know, Wes did say it costs money to attend." Kurt said, biting his lip lightly.
"Well, there's no time like the present, let's go." Blaine said, grabbing Kurt's hand and pulling him out of the room. Kurt ignored the butterflies in his stomach, and followed Blaine downstairs and into the living room.
"Hey boys, what's up?" Pamela said when they stood in front of the adults, looking at all of them nervously.
"Well, we wanted to talk to you all about high school." Blaine began.
"Really?" Elizabeth asked, smiling at them.
"Yeah, there's a certain high school we want to go to, because Jeff and Wes are going there." Kurt said. "But there's a catch."
"What's the catch?" James asked, sending the adults an amused look.
"The schools Dalton Academy, it's an all-boys private boarding school... but you have to pay tuition to go there. We know you might not want to pay for our high school, but we really want to go to school with Wes and Jeff, and Noah said he's going to talk to his parents about Dalton as well."
"Dalton Academy?" Burt said, taking his cap off and rubbing his head. "We have heard things about that school... but boys, it's really expensive, and I don't know how I feel about sending you away to live somewhere else."
