Demi's POV
I was watching TV with Alexa next me when my phone buzzed. I check to see a text from Marissa.
"Hey, Dems, are you doing anything today? Maybe we could grab lunch," the text read.
"Sure, that sounds great. You can officially meet Lexi," I responded
"Sounds great! Let's go to the restaurant across from my place. It's new, and I've been wanting try it."
"See you at 12:30?" I asked.
"Sounds a plan," was her last text.
I looked down at Alexa. It looked like she was thinking about something instead of watching the TV. "What are you thinking about?" I asked. Her head quickly snapped up to look at me, clearly her thoughts being interrupted. She just shrugged and looked back down. I didn't really know what to do. I knew she wouldn't talk to me, so there was no use in asking her to tell me.
"Do you trust me?" I asked instead. She stared at me for a while before slowly nodding her head. I gave her a soft smile, which she returned.
"We're going to go to lunch with one of my best friends. She's really nice. Is that okay?" Alexa nodded. I turned to look at the clock. 11:50 already. "We watch too much TV," I pointed out. Alexa nodded in agreement, which made me giggle a little. She's so cute. "We should start getting ready. We have to leave soon to meet her on time."
We both parted, me going to get ready in my room, and Alexa in hers. When I saw Alexa dressed, I couldn't help but smile. She had on a white top with lacy sleeves and a pink skirt. She was wearing white flats. "It's a little cold out there, you'll want a sweater." She nodded and went back to her room. She quickly returned with plain black sweater.
I held her hand as we went out to my car. Instead of the car ride being quiet, I turned the radio on. I sang along to the song I knew really well, which were almost all of them. Alexa looked content every time I looked back at her. She was still thinking about something; I could tell.
Marissa was already waiting for us at a table when we got there. I quickly walked over to her and hugged my best friend. "And this cutie is Lexi," she said as she looked down at Alexa, who shyly waved and leaned against my leg. Through lunch, Marissa and I talked about how our lives have been. Of course, I was talking about Lexi and how much I loved her being with me. Every time I looked down at Lexi, she wasn't paying any attention to us. She was always deep thought. I knew I should talk to her about it when we get home, even if she wouldn't say anything back. That's why I gave her a notepad.
Super super short, sorry about this :/ I'm drawing a blank on this book, and if I'm updating my others, I want to update this one, too. I'm sure ideas will come, but you will just have to bare with me on these filler chapters. Thanks for almost 2K reads!
