Two couldn't remember the last time he stopped running, One was begging for him to add up to Three in order to save energy, but he knew Three couldn't run fast enough.

"Two, please! You're gonna get hurt!"

Two only shook his head, having too little breath to properly argue.

"May....maybe I can out climb it!"

"Okay, but please just stop running."

Two ran to a nearby tree and started to climb it, branch after branch. He made it to the top fairly quickly, when he reached it, he could see the growing cloud of the black murky wall that advanced towards them. It was barely a foot away, when Two spoke.

"One?"

"Let's add?"

"Yeah."

"One,"

"Plus Two, equals."

Suddenly, screech was heard, the cloud bent around them, as if they had some kind of shield up.

"W-what?" Two questions, "What did we do to make that happen?"

They stopped the addition and the cloud dove for them immediately.

"One," One quickly repeated. Making it stop once again.

Two looked around possibly for something that could stimulate such a reaction from the unstoppable force.

"One!" Two cried, happiness starting to take over, "Stop the addition and glow!"

One obeyed and the tendril still did not touch them, in fact it even backed away when she glowed brighter.

"Glow? How does that work?"

"One! Think! The opposite of dark, is light!"

One gasped, "We don't need to run!"

"No we don't, we just need to glow!"

One took him by the arm, "Then let's glow! I mean.. go!"

Five shot up in her bed in panic.

"Oh, you're awake."

Five observed the room as Fifteen set down the book she was reading.

"Do you feel alright?"

"I.. I think so.. w-what happened?" Five shifted herself enough to slide herself of of the comfortable sheets.

"Well, what do you remember?"

"Last I remembered was.."

Her eyes widened, she shoved Fifteen out the way and scrambled gor the door, in her haste, however, she tripped over her own foot and fell with a 'oof'.

Fifteen sat there, uncertain of what she should do.

"Um, Five?"

"Thirteen! Where is he? I remember trying to help him get out of the water- it got really cold and I almost passed out- Oh no, Ten! She was hurt! They're in trouble!"

Fifteen softly shushed her friend and helped her stand.

"They're okay, we got them."

"But I know not everybody made it! What happened to them? Are they okay?"

"I don't know."

"You don't know?! We need to go save them now!"

Fifteen held her back, "We will save them. Not now though."

"Not now!? Yes now! They need help!"

"I know, we'll save them, we may not know how, but we will."

"What do you mean you don't know how!?"

"I mean we don't know how."

"Why are you so calm about this? They're in danger and you're just standing there safe and sound! Why have you not gone out to rescue them!?"

"Because, as I said, we don't know how. Going back out there without a plan would be a terrible decision."

"Leaving them out there is a terrible decision! We need to hurry up and figure out a way if that's what's keeping you here!"

"Five, you can agree that we need time to figure that out. Not even Twenty-one has a clue what that cloud is."

"Then figure it out! Don't stand there talking to me!"

"Five, please calm down, we don't know what to do, and I said that we'd save them."

"You can't, and you know it!"

"There is a way, and by my duty as an agent I swear we will find any way we can."

"What if we don't Fifteen? What if its too late and we'll never see them again?"

Fifteen looked directly into Five's eyes.

"We will. I promise. I promise that we will go back and save them."

"When Fifteen?! When will we go back to save them!? They could be suffering, cold and alone and scared- How long are we gonna leave them like that?!"

"I don't know!" Fifteen yelled, throwing Five off, most likely because she never does that, "I don't know, okay? I don't know when we will but we will! Do you know how hard it is for me? To walk around here safe while I know that some aren't?"

Five stood there in silence, hand curled into a fist and shaking.

"I'm not heartless..... I'm scared too.." Fifteen sighed, turning to the door, "I failed my mission as an agent and I want to make it right."

As she opened it, ready to walk out, Five spoke.

"I'm sorry.. It's just- Everything seems like a mission to you.. It makes it look like we're all objects in one big game you want to win.."

Fifteen looked to the floor.

"You're forgiven," The silent block held her hand out, "Friends?"

Five took it.

"Friends."
