Eight laid in his cot, next to Fourteen.

"When do you think he'd wake up?"

Nine sighed, "I dunno Eight. Ever since Four left, this whole fiasco started, nobody even knows where this stuff came from."

Eight threw up all eight arms and leaned back in his chair.

"What even put him in the coma anyway?"

"No idea, they just found him passed out in front of the lighthouse light."

All of a sudden, Twenty-one threw open the door, hurrying to her fellow lucky friend.

"Oh no no no- This can't be good."

She immediately started checking him over, looking for any sign of his awakening.

"There's nothing. Nothing. Nothing at all."

The number explorer backed away and put a hand to her head.

"Why did I leave this to them, I was asking for this- It's all my fault, I shouldn't have told them how to power the light. And now there's not a thing that I can do."

Her grip on her fedora got harder, in fact, Nine worried if she pulled any harder it'll rip right through the middle.

Thankfully, she let out a breath and put it back on.

"I'm sorry.. I wish there was something I could do.."

Eight cleared his throat, startling her.

"Oh! Um, hello. I didn't see you there."

"How can you not?"

"I.. I dunno. Sorry, I'm usually much more aware of my surroundings."

Her glimpse fell back to the bed.

"It's all my fault.."

Nine shuffled up to the hopeless block and put hand on her back.

"It can't be, even Twenty-eight was blaming herself. I have no clue how you're linked to this, but I'm sure he'd wake up eventually."

But she shook her head.

"You don't understand, it is my fault. It's also my fault that Twenty-eight's blind."

"Huh?"

"Well, we were installing the lights, and we couldn't find this one part. Uh, y'know, the battery?"

If Nine wasn't grey already, you would be able to see the color drain from him.

"Yeah, so, the battery was missing, and I knew another way to power the light. It was risky, but I wasn't thinking straight, so we used ourselves to do it. He must've done it alone, now there's no safe way to power the light, and he's probably asleep forever.."

She let out a whimper, slowly toppling off the edge of her emotions.

Eight looked to Nine for confirmation.

Nine nodded.

"Erm, Twenty-one?"

"Yeah?.."

"This whole thing isn't your fault."

"It is, there's no way that it isn't.. Thanks for trying to make me feel better.."

"No its not.. Uh, its me and Nine's.."

She uncurled herself, blankly staring forwards.

"What?"

"Yes, we... are to blame for this... you see, we're the ones who lost the battery."
