The numberblocks worked the day away as they had built the whole tower part before the the sun was even up, they had put the ceiling in just as a loud noise was heard.

"The darkness is here!" Twenty-seven yelled, "Everybody go in the cellar!"

Her and Eight had both stayed behind to make sure that everybody was making it, once everyone was in they closed the hatch.

"Attention all numberblocks, are you ready to go back out? We have to glow, and if you get tired, come back in here and rest." Eight explained.

The entire wave of blocks nodded.

"Okay! Come on out!"

The hatch was reopened and they went back to work, working for hours on the top, getting the platform up there was a bit tricky however.

"Wait, Eight, Twenty-seven, Sixteen? Let go off it." Nine ordered, "I have an idea."

They all let go and Nine threw it, at the angle he threw it at and the strength he used, it landed perfectly.

"I could've done that." Eight said.

Nine rolled his eyes and chuckled.

"Right."

Fourteen, Twenty-one, and Twenty-eight were installing the lights.

"Giant light bulb." Twenty-one called.

Fourteen handed it to her.

"Giant light case."

He handed it to her.

"Giant cord for the light."

"Here you go."

"Thank you, now Twenty-eight, attach this to the light switch."

"My pleasure!"

"Fourteen, I need the battery."

"Okay... uh.. Where is it.."

He looked behind him to see if he had missed something, but the battery was no where in sight.

"I can't see it.."

Twenty-one's head emerged from the light bulb case.

"We need that."

"I know, but its not here."

She let out a big huff.

"That was the only one too.."

Twenty-eight gave a little whimper.

"So.. we put plenty of precious time into this, and it was practically for nothing?"

Fourteen looked down, "What are we gonna tell everyone? This was our only hope.."

Twenty-one's fist curled.

"We're gonna tell them it works."

"Pardon?"

"I'm with her, you lost me."

"We're gonna tell them it works, I have another idea, but its dangerous, and you can say no if you want."

Twenty-one turned to her friends, "We can use our own glow to power it. We're lucky enough, but we should all do it together, NEVER try it by yourself, you might end up with irreversible damage."

"Pretty positive product, if you ask me, and this pattern pioneer's gonna help you!"

"You're insane, both of you."

They looked to each other.

"But hey! Count me in! Extreme!"

"You guys are awesome."

"No problem, pal! What are friends for?"

"Playing? Banishing loneliness, the list goes on.."

Twenty-eight giggled.

"Alright guys.. we all have to place our hand on the glass.."

As she did it, the other two copied.

"Let the light flow from you, let it be absorbed. After a bit, let go. It'll be a bit tricky, since the light holds on to you, but since all three of us are here, it'll just let go."

The light flashed on, brightening up everything within the radius of a football field.

"Now, to find our friends!" Fourteen cheered.
