After they walked a good mile, Sixteen then asked the question that she should've probably asked an hour ago.
"So.. where's the emergency meeting point?"
Twenty's eyes flit to hers in panic.
"You didn't know where it was?"
"I have to be square with you, I don't have a clue half the time where I'm going..."
"I was following you! I had no idea where it was."
"Well that's not good.."
"It can't get any worse than this can it?"
Then, their lantern died.
"It can."
"I see."
Both sat there in glum silence.
"Ruuuuun!" Sixteen suddenly called and ran away, Twenty chasing after.
"To where? We clearly don't know where we're going!"
"Uh, uhm... To.. To that!" A stick lay awkwardly in the ground, "You can use your cane to hold them off! I'll get this stick and hopefully, I can help you fight them!"
"Very well then. Please return quickly.."
Sixteen left him to pull the stick, but it wouldn't budge, so she opted to twist it this way and that, hoping that it'll give.
Twenty gasped as one of the darkness clouds batted away his cane.
"I can't hold them anymore.. please hurry!"
Sixteen nodded and pulled it towards her, but instead the ground opened up making her fall down the stairs.
When she finally landed at the bottom, she looked up to see the other blocks staring at her in disbelief.
"Sixteen made it dudes! She made it!"
Seventeen came over and helped her up.
"We thought you'd never get here.."
Sixteen was surprised and elated at the fact that she found the emergency meeting point at last, but she then remembered Twenty, who was still up there with the darkness.
"Twenty! I have to go get him!"
Fifteen looked upwards, "Twenty is up there!?"
She nodded, already making her way up the stairs, "He's by himself! We need to go get him!"
Fifteen and Seventeen followed Sixteen up the stairs until they reached the top.
"Twenty!" Sixteen called, "Twenty! Where did you go? I got help! I found the meeting point!"
Fifteen looked around, seeing as nothing had happened, "He's not here.."
Sixteen covered her mouth.
"What have I done? I left him alone and now he's gone.."
Seventeen ushered them back inside, closing the entrance.
"He may not be.. gone.. he might've ran away for safety.. no need to assume the worst.."
Sixteen only nodded.
She had to be square with herself too.
