Ten watched in horror as the door fell, taking off in the direction of the kitchen.
"C'mon Ten, find a hiding spot, you can't be seen.."
She facepalmed in frustration.
"Why couldn't I've been a quiet step squad?"
Seeing the pantry door, she opened it and slipped in.
"Don't make a sound. Don't make a sound. Don't make a-"
Eleven slid into the kitchen and hit the wall at a decent speed, cutting Ten off.
"Ouch, that was NOT worth it."
Fourteen, also in a hurry, slid into Eleven, propelling them both into the wall.
"Thanks a lot."
"Sorry dudette, I panicked. Where's a good place to hide?"
"There. The pantry." Eleven whispered.
Then Five slid in, throwing all three into the wall.
"Well the kitchen sure is a popular hiding spot." The football player murmured.
"Sorry, in a hurry."
The darkness seemed to hear the commotion and started banging on the door.
"Hide."
The three opened the pantry and jumped when Ten stood there.
"Phew.. It's just Ten.."
"Hurry up, fellow cadets, turn off the light!"
Five flicked the thing off and joined Ten behind a shelf.
All of them tensed when the door was smashed to pieces.
Ten looked to Fourteen, Eleven, and Five, holding up her hand in a shushing motion.
The four sat in silence. Waiting for the darkness to pass.
Instead, it smashed the pantry door down, as the hidden blocks shivered in fear of it finding them.
'It's gonna find us..' Eleven mouthed to Fourteen, pointing to the exit, and getting ready to make a run for it.
Fourteen only made her sit back down and shook his head.
'Not yet.'
Ten tapped Five and looked to the light switch.
Five, knowing that the darkness was distracted, turned the light back on in hopes of dissipating it.
It did no such thing.
Because Fourteen and Eleven were the closest ones to the cloud, it circled them both.
Eleven yelped and ducked, Fourteen only covered his eyes.
After a bit, the cloud lifted, leaving dark, lifeless versions of them standing there.
Five covered her mouth in horror as Ten grabbed her hand and rocketed out.
"Ten let me go!"
"No."
"Eleven and Fourteen.."
"Are gone, we need to get away."
"I killed them..."
"You did not."
"The light.."
"I told you to turn it on, that's on me. But I can't lose you too."
"But... but.. I..."
"Just hold on Five."
