K E N Z I E
I am not feeling good or even well at all. My head isn't pounding like it was before but the rest of my body is hurting. I can't even move without groaning in pain. It doesn't take me long at all to realise where I am. His house is slowly starting to become familiar.
I'm in his bedroom and I can feel his presence next to me.
"So you're telling me we have no way of finding out who sent that guy because you killed him?" I hear a familiar voice speak out whom I'm going to assume is Theo's.
"Can't you hack into the cameras or something? Find out where he came from? If he came in a car or whatever." Nolan's unforgettable voice answers.
"I can try. But I doubt I'll get anything useful out of it. You didn't see a car, did you?"
"No, I didn't."
"Alright. I'll see what I can do. But you wanna tell me what on earth you were thinking when you killed him? Did it not cross your mind that him being alive would have been incredibly beneficial?" Theo's voice drenched in a tone of stupidity, as if he's shocked Nolan did something so careless without thinking.
"Listen. I saw him strangling Kenzie. And I didn't want to see him breathing for another second. If you're going to bitch around with me then you can respectfully leave." Even though I'm mentally wide awake, they definitely think I'm fast asleep.
Should I feel honoured? I don't know what to feel.
"Hm.. you did that for a girl?" Theo continues pestering Nolan.
"You know I would've done it for any girl if I saw them in a position like that. And you should be thanking me for saving her life because you'd lose the only girl you're able to have a conversation with." I twinge with slight movement, not wanting to hear any more of this conversation.
I am no longer interested in listening to them talk about me. Because unfortunately, I do wish Nolan killed him solely for the reason that it was me who was about to die. Not any other girl. But I'm not his girlfriend or anything, he's just attractive and there's something about a man who looks like him that cares about you. Whatever.
"Hey, that's not true!" Theo exclaims. "She looks like she's about to wake up. Why don't you surprise her with your presence?" His voice slowly disappears and I finally attempt to open my eyes.
"We're in my room because it's closer to the stairs. Your room's too long of a walk so you're gonna be here until you're back to your normal self." Nolan explains himself without me having to question him. "It's easier for us to take care of you."
I squint my eyes at him, allowing them to slowly adjust to the bright lighting. I lift myself up slightly, my upper body weight relying on my elbows. A sudden discomfort arises in my hand, I completely forgot that I'd been cut there. However, it's all bandaged up and I'm still sore everywhere.
"Did I fall asleep on the way here?" I ask him as I don't recall arriving at his house.
"Mhm."
I rest my elbows, lying flat on my back. I sigh heavily, staring up at the ceiling. Even though I can feel Nolan's compelling stare on the side of my face, I rest my eyes closed. God knows how long I've been passed out for but I'm exhausted.
