N O L A N
A day of peace. Just pure peace. That's all I want. Since when was that too much to ask? This past week has been unbearable. I had everything going smoothly, but of course, it had to be ruined. To be fair, peace isn't a common feeling in my life. I'm aware that I chose this lifestyle and shouldn't be complaining, but I've been in this world for many years. Since I was a young teenager, I've never felt the way I have this past week. The problems just keep coming, and it's starting to mess with my mind.
This is the closest I've ever been to giving up. Not killing myself, but letting Kenny and Kieran win just to end this once and for all. However, my mindset won't let me live in peace even after it's over. So, I have to win because I'd rather be dead than lose to my own dad and cousin. I swear on everything that if this is not done by the end of this week then I genuinely have no idea what I am going to do.
"Nolan, you need to calm down and explain. I can't understand anything you're saying if you're screaming at me," Vanessa tries to soothe me through the Bluetooth connected to my car as I race back home. The longer it takes to find Kenzie, the more fucked she is. And if she's fucked, then so am I.
"I said Kenzie's gone. I don't know where or who she's with but I need all of you to try and track her down," I explain to Nessa in a much more calm and composed tone even though inside, I'm struggling to hold it together. I'm worried for her because anything can happen to her.
"Sh-she might be over at a friend's or something. I mean, she's going through a lot right now, so maybe she doesn't want to be at home all day." Nessa's stuttering almost catches me off guard since she never stumbles over her words. It's like she knows something I don't, but right now, I don't have time to think about that.
"No, no, no. Her keys were left on the driveway next to her car. That's weird." Although I'm almost certain something's happened to her, I want Nessa to convince me that I'm overreacting and she's perfectly fine.
"Oh shit." That's the last thing Nessa says before the call disconnects.
"Hello? What the fuck?" I'm confused as I dial Chase's number.
"Yo, where are you?" Chase picks up straight away.
"Listen, I just told Nessa this, but I don't know what she's doing because the call disconnected. I need all of you to track down Kenzie now. I'm coming home and I'll answer all the questions then."
"Woah, alright. I'll let everyone know and see what Vanessa's doing."
"Thank you." I sigh and end the call.

"Oh shit." I end the call frantically, panicking about Kenzie's whereabouts. How did I not call her before? She was supposed to be here hours ago. Kieran? Is he behind this? I need to call him ASAP.
Wasting no time, I dial Kieran's number. My heart feels heavy, almost like it's about to fall into my stomach. This is the first time I'm going to talk to him in a while, especially after everything. This is not how I wanted to reconnect with him.
The call stops ringing, indicating he's on the other line.
"Kieran?" I start the conversation immediately; I need to make sure Kenzie is safe.
"Nessa."
"I... I got your number from Kenzie," he cuts me off.
"I didn't think you'd call so soon."
"She's missing. I don't know where she is or what's happening to her, but I figured you might know something." I can hear myself sounding incredibly vulnerable, which is not good considering Kieran might be involved in her sudden disappearance. Just because he's my brother doesn't mean I should trust him. "And don't even think about lying."
