K E N Z I E

I drive back home, lost in a whirlwind of confusion and curiosity. I didn't say I wouldn't break his heart or anything because in all honesty, I'm going to spill the truth the second I see him. However, even if I had to genuinely break his heart with no choice in the world, it'd be impossible. I mean are we even talking about the same Nolan? Surely, we're not. Nothing can break that man's heart.

I let out a long exasperated sigh, an action that I've gotten so used to doing, it's a natural reflex now. This shit is going to tire me out but I hate to admit, it's worth all the moments I get to spend with Nolan. He makes me feel good about myself, especially while having sex.

He has the tendency to solve everything that comes in his path, this must be nothing. Hence why I'm literally not stressing at all, if anything, I'm weirded out. I'm not shocked that Nolan kissed his supposed cousin's girlfriend, it's very expected from him. It's more of the fact that out of all people, Kieran came to me? Why? How the hell does he even know me? If he didn't even send the guy after me, who was it. But then again, I don't trust a thing out of that depressed loser's mouth. He can shove his revenge plot fantasy right up his ass.

I swiftly park into the enlarged driveway, packed with other sports cars. Mine looks like a joke compared to theirs. I slam the door shut, rushing to get inside because I need him to actually explain what else I should expect to go through. Having the encounter was the last thing I thought would happen even though nothing harmful took place.

I unlock the door with the keys Nolan gave me, entering inside the warm house.

"Kenzie! You wanna watch the movie with us?" Kai exclaims, asking me. The constant smell of weed travels through my nose, something I've gotten used to.

"No! I got something to do!" I call out to all the boys who stare at me, concerned but also, of course, baked out of their minds.

I dash up the stairs, skipping a step at a time. I don't hesitate to walk into Nolan's room, I've gotten more comfortable around him. Let's just hope he's not in a bad mood.

His presence fills me with comfort as I check his naked body out while a towel is draped around his lower abdomen. His body's wet as well as his hair, his tattoos shine over his soaked skin. My mouth fails to speak as I catch myself peering at his v-line.

Nolan's cough throws me out of my deep well of horny thoughts, instantly bringing me back to reality.

"You alright?" He questions, concern etched into his face.

"Erm, yeah." I awkwardly assure him, standing like an idiot.

"So... any reason to why you've barged into my room?" He slowly trails over to me, water dripping from his strands of hair, falling down his chest.

My breathing immediately quickens and I swallow hard, my nipples going hard. I lick my lips and ready myself to tell him what hell I just encountered. "Yeah, I got something to tell you."

His eyebrows furrow in curiosity as he crosses his arms across his chest, ready to hear what I want to tell him.

"Go on." He lifts both his brows, intently studying my face.

"Well, where do I start from?" I linger for a moment, deciding whether I should get to the point or mention how I'd nearly gotten into a fatal car accident. Making up my mind, my mouth agapes open but closes the second my phone starts buzzing in my pocket.

I kiss my teeth, pulling my phone to see an unknown number is ringing me. My screen's hidden away from Nolan's view but I notice him peering over to get a look. I hide it, pressing the device closer to my chest. It's not a coincidence that I'm getting a call from an unrecognisable number after meeting an unrecognisable person. I know it's Kieran. Fuck.
