Mirage's P.O.V.
We haven't seen Jamie around the base in a month; this isn't cause for concern until I see Crosshairs and Drift worried. I dread asking them what's wrong, but I must ask. They tell me they haven't been able to contact her in a month. She's been inactive on her social media profiles and projects. The fact we're even thinking about her might mean she didn't commit suicide, or we're wrong about all memories being erased if she dies. We get permission from Prime to go to her dimension. There's evidence no one has been at her base in some time.
"This means neither Jayce nor J.R. have been here. Oddly, they haven't contacted us," Drift frets.
"You two go back; I'll find her," I tell the two worried mechs.
I know they're worried, but they do as I tell them. I don't think I can get answers by talking to Jamie's family. They've yet to meet me. They'll find it odd that two friends they did meet hired a spy, or even if I tell them I'm a detective. I'm going to have to be invisible and look around.Jamie's room at the house is clean and, like her base, looks unlived in for some time. I found a spot to listen to conversations, but these people act like Jamie doesn't exist.
Shit, don't tell me Jamie was right; her family doesn't care she killed herself? Were we wrong, and we will remember her even if she's dead? Not only can I not go back to tell the others, but I refuse to believe it. I'll have to wait until these people go to sleep to look around the office.I wait until midnight. I didn't have to search long to find what I was looking for.
I can't believe they did this. Is this what humans call helping?
I must relay this information to Prime."A psychiatric hospital? That will not help Jamie, but there's nothing we can do," Prime tells me after I tell him where Jamie is.
"Let me find her in this hospital. I feel like she's not safe."
"Very well, but you Can't take her away from the hospital."Walking around this place, I don't feel like it's a hospital. Am I right; Jamie is in danger?
"Shut up!!" I hear a human yell and a whip.
I rush to see what's going on, knowing it's a human being beaten.
No, it's Jamie.
I dread filming this, but I need evidence. Hearing Jamie cry makes it harder not to save her now.
We'll get you out of here, I promise.Optimus Prime's P.O.V.
I couldn't believe what Mirage found. While I don't agree with this, we can't get Jamie out without a valid reason, and we need ample evidence. I dread telling Mirage we must wait and gather evidence for another three weeks.
"How is this not enough?" Mirage argues.
"He's right, Prime; I don't know how much longer she'll last," Ratchet adds, "I can tell by the footage and pictures; she's losing weight fast."
"I'd like to give the order to get her out now, but we have rules to follow," I tell them in a sad tone.
"Then what should I tell Crosshairs and Drift?"
"You'll have to tell them now,* Ratchet advises.
The three of us hate this is our only option. Both Crosshairs and Drift couldn't believe what Mirage found out or that I said we needed to wait longer.
"Prime, she will die if we wait any longer!" Crosshairs argues.
"I told him that, but there are damn rules we must follow," Ratchet tells him.
Drift is normally quiet and wouldn't argue with a decision I made, but I've seen how much he cares for Jamie. I'm concerned he's not arguing. I look at him in time to see him pass out. That's why he didn't say anything; he was silently panicking, or we didn't notice the signs.
"He's not going to be able to deal with waiting a month," Ratchet comments while trying to wake Drift.
He'd worry whether I told him or not. Sane with Crosshairs. I can only try to see if we can get to Jamie sooner.Lennox's P.O.V.
I couldn't believe what Mirage had discovered.
"No, this is enough evidence. This place is more like an asylum than a psychiatric hospital."
I was about to tell Prime we need to get her out now when I realized Sunstreaker was watching the footage from behind us.
"Those fragging humans, I will kill them!!" He fumes before walking away.
"Sunstreaker, stop!" Prime yells.
Sunstreaker turns to face us, his optics a bright red.
"We will get her," I tell him, "but we must have a plan."
I'd rather not inform any of the others, but they'll find out eventually. I fear Jamie is very ill and will be in the medbay for some time. The others watch the footage in horror. They all want to get Jamie and deal with the fragging humans who think this is ok, but there's no need for all of us to go.
"Prime, Crosshairs, Ironhide, Sunstreaker, and I will go," I tell everyone. It
"Better let Drift go," Bee suggests.
Ratchet stays to get the medbay ready; he gives Drift a sedative in case Jamie can't relax.
It's mid-afternoon; we can put our plan into action now.
