TWO WEEKS BEFORE THE END of term, the sky lightened suddenly to a dazzling, opaline white and the muddy grounds were revealed one morning covered in glittering frost. Inside the castle, there was a buzz of Christmas in the air.

Both Ron and Hermione had decided to remain at Hogwarts, and though Ron said it was because he couldn't stand two weeks with Percy and Hermione insisted she needed to use the library, Harry and Anna weren't fooled, they were doing it to keep them company and they were grateful for it.

Anna was in a particularly great mood these days and could be found helping Professor Flitwick, the charms teacher, with many decorations around the castle and humming to Christmas songs as she skipped through the corridors.

The reason of her happiness was because she didn't have to spend Christmas with her parents. Christmas at the Aristides was more like a formal dinner. Besides she couldn't stand her brother.

Alan had disappeared two days ago and she was sure he left for his home. Unlike Anna, her parents actually wanted their son to spend holidays with them. That was what the siblings were, Anna was the outcast and Alan was the favourite child. She was the rebellious and he was the obedient.

To everyone's delight except Harry's, there was to be another Hogsmeade trip on the very last weekend of term.

Harry had to physically wrestle Anna to pry the permission slip from her to give it to McGonagall as she was throwing a fit to stay with him.

"What happened to 'friends stick together'?"

Harry ignored the pang on his chest and submitted the slip much to her distress.

The Saturday morning was anything but calm. Anna had taken up the excuse that she was suffering a severe migraine and she would faint if she even tried standing up. As expected her dumb excuse wasn't accepted by the bright witch, who dragged her to the washroom and then dressed her up.

Harry waved goodbye to his friends and watched in amusement as Anna who was literally hidden under the scarf, this time hers, which Hermione had wrapped around her neck get dragged by the Hermione and Ron.
