IF THERE WAS ONE THING Anna learned after living three months with Hermione, it is that this Granger girl was dedicated and by that she meant utterly dedicated.
And that applied to her studies as well.
The girl had taken up ever subject provided, all the selective ones. How she attended her classes was a mystery to all. She was criticised by everyone especially Ron but Hermione decided to not pay any mind to it and do what her heart desired.
Anna thought it was really great and appreciated her dedication but right now, sitting on her bed across Hermione's in their dorm as she did her DADA, Arithmancy and Ancient Runes all at once, Anna didn't find it great at all.
Unlike others, with whom Anna had already found something specific to do with she hasn't done anything significant with Hermione.
For example, she could play Quidditch with Harry, chess with Ron, draw with Dean, chat with Seamus about Ireland given that she herself had Irish roots, talk about plants with Neville and gossip with Lavender, Parvati and Ginny. She had bonded well with every Gryffindor of their year. She was even on great terms with Angelina, Katie, the twins, Lee and Oliver. Colin Creevey liked her very much too. They both bonded over their curiosity about each other's background. Anna taught him about the traditional Wizarding life and he taught her about the muggle life.
But Anna felt she wasn't that close with Hermione at all. Sure they shared a dorm, ate together and sat in classes together and other than that they spent their time mostly in the library reading about law books to help Hagrid or doing homework in the common room.
All they did was read. Anna was beginning to feel hostile against Hermione's affection for her books.
So she made an effort.
On the morning of their first day of Christmas break Anna, for the first time in her life got up early, dressed up and appeared beside Hermione's bed who was still sleeping.
Anna almost felt bad for waking her up because Hermione was up until 2am last night finishing her Potions homework that Snape had given them unkindly as their Christmas break homework. But again Anna never saw herself as someone tactful so she grabbed the end of her friend's blanket and yanked it off.
