23 | 1 secret, 2 broken souls

Trigger Warning: Murder

-Noah-

I lay Maya's sleeping body on my bed. I tuck her under the sheets as I place a small kiss on her forehead.

I run downstairs where Liam and Jax are. "Where are you going?" Jax asks me. "To kill a motherfucker." They jump up and run towards me. "Who? I'm intrigued now." Liam says. "Maya professor." I grab my keys and get into my car, both Jax and Liam following behind me.

"Are you gonna tell us what happened?" Jax asks. "He assaulted Maya." I frustratingly say. I feel the tension in the car turn thick. "Son of a bitch." Liam whispers.

I park by the college and walk towards the university, Liam and Jax following behind me. I walk in the hallways and pass different classrooms. "Which teacher is it?" Jax asks. I pause as I see a middle aged man handling some paperwork. "That motherfucker." I whisper to Liam and Jax.

We watch as he exits his class and goes to his office. 'Mr. Smith.' I grab the doorknob and push his office door open. "Hey!" He yells. I walk in and slam the door behind me.

"Noah Slade, what a surprise." He says with a grin on his face. "Frank. It's been a while." "It has, hasn't it? You were a little child when I last saw you." He said as he eyes me.

"We need to talk." I say. "If this has anything to do with Maya, you can show yourself out." He says as he lifts his hand towards the door. "I'm not leaving." I scowl to him.

"Look at you, all grown up. Just like your father." He says, standing from his chair. I feel my stomach drop at the way he compares me to my father.
I promised myself to never be that man, nor finish his missions once I took over.

"I am nothing like that duchebag!" I yell. "But you are! You're the spitting image of your father whether you like it or not." Frank says back to me.

I take out my gun and point. Frank leans against his bookshelf. "Poor Maya. She doesn't even know what she's doing to herself." He says. "Maya is perfectly fine making her own decisions." "Is she though? Does she know what your hiding from her? 1 day you're both having fun then the next it's 1 secret and 2 broken souls."

I feel my finger wrap around the trigger. "You should know me Frank. I will do whatever it takes to make sure Maya is safe, including go against that secret." I pull the trigger as I watch Frank fall to the ground.

I take in a deep breath as I watch his blood drain. I unlock the door and let Liam and Jax in. "Clean this mess up. I don't want anyone to see you guys." I say. Both of them go to pick up Frank's body and I leave the scene.

I sit in my car and take in the last few moments I had with Frank. 'You're the spitting image of your father whether you like it or not.' His words kept replaying in my head. My rings in my pocket and I take it out to see a contact I wish I didn't.

'Dad.'

-Maya-

"Wake up!" I hear Elena screaming. "What the fuck." I say. "We're going shopping!" "For what?" I turn to see Sophie laying a outfit on Noah's bed. "We're going to a party tomorrow and you need a dress." "Did Noah say this was okay?" I ask. "Screw Noah, I say we're doing it." Sophie says.

When I'm finally ready, I walk downstairs to see only Sophie and Elena. "Where are the boys?" I ask. "They went with Noah on some mission, we weren't invited." Sophie says. I nod. Elena pulls my arm and they drag me to the garage. Sophie takes the keys to the boys motorcycles.

"No!" I yell. "We're gonna teach you." Elena says. "Let's just take one of their cars." "No." Sophie says. They push me to Noah's motorcycle. "I can't do this!" I yell. "You can and you will!" Elena says as she hands me my helmet and Noah's leather jacket.

Both Elena and Sophie stand on each side of the bike, holding me for stability. "Pull down on the lever slowly." I do as I'm told as I feel the bike start moving. I let go of the lever quickly and shake for a moment before the bike stops. "This is too much." I say. "We're not going to let you fall." Sophie says.

I try again and pull down on the lever slowly. The bike moves again and I slowly start pulling the lever down again, making the speed increase. I come to a complete stop and laugh to myself. "That was fun!" I yell. "Elena? Sophie?" I notice they weren't by my side anymore. I look over my shoulder and see them getting on Jax and Liam's motorcycles. Bitches.

"You lead." Sophie says. "Me?" I ask. "Yes. Noah leads for everything so it's only fair." Elena says on my other side. I look forward at the road. "What if I fall?" I ask. "We're behind you." Sophie says.

I pull the lever and hear the engine roar under me. I start riding slowly as Sophie and Elena follow behind me. I pull the lever down, feeling the air hit me harder as I speed up.

The adrenaline rush was a lot to take in but I loved every moment. My cheeks started hurting from smiling so much under the helmet.

In those moments, I realized something. I realized that ever since I met Noah, my world has become more crazy and exciting. He introduced me to his world and his dark parts, and I've been unfair not to show him mine. I've been unfair to him and Santiago for not telling the truth.

Just FYI, Noah does not know what happened to Maya's parents. I know it can get confusing, I confused myself a few times writing the storyline but I just wanted to clear the confusion if you think Noah knows anything.
