"Santiago get down here!" Chloe yells and helps me inside. Santiago comes downstairs and sees me a mess.
"What the hell happened to you?" He asks. "It doesn't matter." I say. "Maya yes it fucking does! Did Noah do this?" "God no!" I yell at my brother.

Santiago sits besides me and tries to touch my wounds.
"Stop!" I slap his hand away. "What the fuck Maya. This is serious." "I didn't come here for you to tend to me!" My brother stares at me confused.

"I can't stay in New York anymore." Santiago doesn't move a inch. "I don't get it. Is this some kind of prank Maya because it isn't funny." "It's not a fucking prank Santiago!" Santiago straightens up his back.

"I need you to help me get to California. I'll help the company from there but I can't stay in New York anymore." I say. "And your reason?" He asks. "I can't say." "Did Noah do something?" I stare down at my thighs. "Maya." "He didn't do anything bad." "That doesn't fully answer my question."

"I'm pregnant Santi." I look at my brothers shocked face. His eyes switch from my face and my stomach. "Do you not want the baby with him?" "I do! But there's more to the story of why I can't stay. Please understand."

Santiago stares at me for a few minutes. He takes in a deep breath and places a hand on my back. "Fine, but you have to promise me that my niece or nephew will be perfectly healthy." "I promise."

I stare at my brothers private jet. It mocks me of my decision knowing deep down I wish there was another way.

"Are you sure about this?" Santiago asks. I nod my head. "We need to part ways. It's for the best Santi."
I step on each step, hearing my heart break each time my foot hits the floor.

Silence traps me as I sit and wait for the plane to take off. Silence and regret.
Welcome back motherfuckers.

-Noah-

I hear beeping beside me. I open my eyes and see my room surrounding me.
I look over and see Liam, Jax, Elena, and Sophie standing beside my bed.

"He's awake!" Liam yells out. Every runs towards the bed and surrounds me. "What the fuck." I say. I try to lift my body up but Elena stops me. "Don't. The doctor recommends you take a long rest before getting up." I lift my shirt up and see my chest wrapped in a bandage.

"Where's Maya?" I ask. Nobody answers me. "Liam." I say in a stern voice. Liam looks at me devastated.
"She left." He says softly.

"What do you mean she left?" I ask. "Her brother came over earlier and took her stuff. Supposedly she's leaving and won't be coming back." Sophie adds on.

No. This don't ending like this. I try to get myself off the bed but my body doesn't let me. I'm hit with a sharp pain when I use my chest to move.

"Noah." Elena places a hand on my shoulder. "It was her choice."

I hear my heart shatter like glass inside me. Her fucking choice? Maya wouldn't do this, would she? No, Maya said she loved me. She wanted a future with me.

Is it because I lied to her? Even after I was shot she told me she loved me though.

My phone starts ringing on my nightstand. Liam grabs my phone and hands it to me. Santiago's name is shown on the screen and I shoo everyone away before I answer the phone.

"Hello." "Good to hear your voice." Santiago says on the other line. "She told you didn't she?" I ask. "Not the full story but just that I should check up on you." Glad to know she somewhat cares.

"Do you know why she left?" I ask. I hear Santiago take a deep breath before talking again. "She didn't say, but she was very strict about it. I couldn't change her mind."

"Where did she go?"
"She asked me not to say." What the fuck. Maya what the hell are you thinking?

"Why?" I ask. "I don't know. Trust me Noah, I have a million questions too but Maya won't say anything." I place my palm on my head and massage my forehead.

"Can you please just tell me where she went?" I ask again. "Look Noah, as your best friend, you've done a great job making Maya happy. I haven't seen her smile like the way she does with you since... my parents."

"But if things are meant to be, you'll find a way back to each other. I have a good feeling about it." I question how much Santiago knows that I don't.

"But as her brother, I'm asking you not to look for her. Don't contact her, don't send anyone to find her. Let her be." He says strictly. "Okay." I softly say.

"Rest easy bud. We can talk soon." With that, Santiago hangs up the phone.

I feel myself sink into my bed while the world rips the rug under me. Why? I wanted it. I probably didn't deserve her but I was begging.

A wet feeling runs down my cheek. I wipe away the tears but they don't stop.

She's gone. She took a part of me and I don't know if I'll get it back.
I don't know if I'll ever get her back.

I know I said this was my favorite to write but I think the sequel will be my favorite!

I know you all probably hate me for the sad ending but I don't like sad endings either.

But of course there will be trouble leading to that gorgeous ending.
