38 | I was only trying to protect you

-Noah-

I haven't slept since Maya went missing. Every hour I'm searching for my car to find her last location. Whoever has her knows how to work around things.

"Noah! We found the car!" Sophie came into the living room screaming. I rushed downstairs to the basement where everyone was suiting up and grabbing weapons.

"Where the hell is she?" I ask. "The car was found by this house. It doesn't have a house owner but the place is fully decorated like someone lives there." Jax replies.
No name is under the home so obviously whoever has her must be there.

I quickly grab my gun and take extra bullets. I take my car while Liam and Sophie ride with me followed by Jax and Elena in the car behind.

We arrive at the unknown house and see my car sitting outside.
"I want Jax and Elena to stay in the car and let me know if she senses anything." I say into my radio. "Copy that." Elena says into her mic. I motion to Sophie and Liam to follow me inside.

I jiggle the door knob, seeing it's locker. Sophie takes her gun and shoots the door, making the handle fall off.
I thank Sophie and we slowly enter inside, checking if the coast is clear.

I see nothing wrong with the scene. Not a single body is in sight, nor do we hear a sound.

Suddenly, I hear a loud thud downstairs. Sophie searches around the house and finds a hidden door behind a bookshelf.
We all run downstairs and see a blonde girl staring at Maya.

My heart beats rapidly while I stare at Maya. Her body is cut and bruised and blood runs down her body like a shower.

I take my gun and drive a bullet into the blonde girls head. Her body drops to the floor in front of Maya.
"What the fuck." I hear Maya mutter.

Me and Sophie run towards Maya. "Love are you okay?" I ask as I kneel in front of her. She doesn't answer me. She doesn't even give me a glance.
"Maya, look at me and tell me you're okay please." I beg her. "I don't want to see you right now." She says.

I lock eyes with Maya but it doesn't hold the same shine it used to. She stares at me with hatred in her eyes.
She stares at me the same way I stare at me dad.

Speak of the fucking devil.
"Glad to see you could join us son." I hear the asshole behind me. I get up and guard Maya with my body. "What the fuck are you doing here?" I ask. "Well since you never finished my job someone had to do it."

I see Maya's ex walk towards me holding a gun. "Thank you, my favorite son." My father says. Son? That asshole. This bastard is not related to me. I don't care if it's the truth or vicious lies.

"Do it." I hear Maya say behind me. "What?" "Shoot me." She says. Elijah lifts his gun and points towards Maya.
"What the fuck are you thinking?" I say, blocking his gun. "You lied to me. I can't even look at you right now." I feel my heart breaking at each word she says. She repeats my words back to me like I once said to my father.

"You know he killed my parents and you didn't tell me." She softly says. Fuck. I fucked up.

"I was only trying to protect you." I say. Maya turns her face away for me. "Noah please just go." She says. I look back and see Elijah about to pull the trigger.

I stand in front of Maya and feel a rush of pain hit my stomach.

"Noah!" I hear Maya call out.
There it was. That's the voice I love to hear. Even when she's pissed at me, deep down there's still that part of me stuck with her.

"Sophie, Liam, someone help him!" Maya yells out. I feel Liam's arms lift me up. "Don't." I say. "If I don't help you you're going to die!" He says. "Then let me die beside her."

Liam doesn't listen to me and lifts me off the ground. I watch as Sophie shoot Elijah then turns to cut Maya's ties. Maya doesn't take her eyes off me while I see tears run down her cheek.

'I love you.' She mouths.

'I love you.' I mouth back to her. I close my eyes and relax while Liam rushes me back home.

-Maya-

"I'm so stupid!" I cry on the floor. "Maya you're not stupid." Sophie reassures me. "Noah is dying because of me!" "He did that because he loves you Maya. Even when you hate him, he will never stop loving you!"

I cry on the floor while both Quinn and Elijah's dead bodies surrounded me.
"Where did Noah's dad go?" I ask. "I don't know. He must've left before we could get him."

That means this isn't over. He wants me and Santiago dead. This is a war between me and him, not Noah.

I pick myself off the ground and attempt to walk. "Maya you're not fully recovered." Sophie tries to help me walk but I push her off. "No Soph. I need to go by myself." I limp on each step upstairs.

I take Noah's car and drive to my brothers house. I ring the doorbell and Chloe answers. "Maya, oh my god what happened?" She asks grabbing my arms and touching my scars.

"Where's Santiago?" "He's upstairs why?"
"I need his help."
