House: Hufflepuff
Draco and I became very close friends during our fourth year at Hogwarts. It all started with rumors, but I knew deep inside, he had feelings for me. He just didn't want to admit it.
He's very obvious with it too. He gives me the silent treatment anytime I talk to other guys, he's gifted me flowers, sometimes a tiny bouquet of freshly picked flowers from the ground, and his best friends tell me how he talks about me non-stop.
It's funny really. I always asked him if he liked me. He always responded in a disgusted tone, denying the fact that he did, indeed, like me. I always played along, like it was a game.
Today, I wanted to get back at him. I asked my friend Cedric Diggory to help me out with my plan.
I asked him to pretend to ask me out in front of Draco. He was a bit hesitant at first, but I convinced him enough.
Cedric and I stood behind a tree in the school's courtyard. "Okay, so what's the plan again?" He asked. I sighed. "Ced, it's simple! I sit over there and pretend to read a book or something and when Draco comes, you go up to me and sit down next to me, put your arm around me or something and fake asking me out," I say.
Cedric followed up quickly. He and I nodded as our plan was set on the go.
I go and sit on a stone bench and go in my bag and grab a random book. I look up occasionally to check if Draco was anywhere in sight.
I saw him coming towards the area. I look at Cedric and he immediately came over.
He sat down next to me and slid his arm under mine, then interlocking our hands.
I look at Draco, who's once pale face now turned red.
"Hey, Y/n, so I've been a bit hesitant to ask you this, since I thought you were with Malfoy, but when I found out you weren't, I thought I'd ask you out... would you like to go out with me Saturday night?" He said, emphasizing some words.
Wow. He was good at this.
I quickly glance at Draco again. He seemed to be waiting for my answer.
I look at Cedric. "I know this is a lot right now, but kiss me," I mumbled. Cedric furrowed his brows and widened his eyes, as he was shocked. "Now, Ced!" I say a bit louder.
Cedric lifted my chin and pulled me close to his face. He planted a soft kiss on my lips.
I turned around once again, only to see Draco walking over. His face was as red as a tomato.
"Get the fuck away from her, Diggory!" He said. He almost raised his fist but I quickly intervened and stood in between them.
"Woah, hey. Malfoy, what are you doing here?" I asked him.
Draco shook his head in confusion. "The fuck? Malfoy? Whatever happened to Draco? What's HE doing here? Why'd he just kiss you? He just held your hand, Y/n!" He exclaimed.
"Why do you care so much? I thought you didn't like me," I say. Draco was stuttering on his words as he tried to say something.
I back up as I aligned with Cedric and held his hand.
That angered Draco even more. He separated our hands and he grabbed me by the wrist and stood in front of me.
He faced Cedric while he held my hand with me standing behind him. "Listen here, she's mine. I don't know who you think you are talking to, but you need to lay your hands off. She's taken. End of story," he said.
Cedric smiled. "Looks like your plan worked, Y/n. See you back at the common room. I'm done here now, bye," Cedric said as he walked off.
Draco watched him leave. He was still holding my hand and I raised it to our eye level. "Malfoy, what do you call this? And what was that? Did you finally... admit?" I say. He looked at our interlocked hands.
"That was all fake?" He huffed. I nodded. I sat him down on the stone bench and sat next to him.
"That's what happens when you're too stubborn to admit your feelings, Malfoy. Now, is there something you'd like to say to me?" I asked.
He snatched his hands away from me. "Yes, first of all, stop fucking calling me Malfoy, second, fine, I do have feelings for you, third... I'm sorry for pulling you so hard," he says. "Aaaand?"
"And... do you want to go out with me?" He asked. I sighed in satisfaction. Finally. I take his hand and put both of my hands on it. "Yes. I'd love to," I said.
