I was sitting on the sofa of the Slytherin common room watching everyone party. There was a group gossiping, another dancing, and the others were were enjoying their time with friends.
I sat with Luna and Ginny, as I listened to them talk about their crushes. "So, Luna, do you fancy anybody?" Ginny asked. Luna blushed. My jaw dropped.
"Luna!" I say. I turned to her, wanting to know more. "Well, his name is Rolf. I was in the library one day and he recommended me a book. It's a really good book actually. It was a romance novel. Ever since, we became really good friends," she says.
Even her tone of voice changed. "Wow, recommending you a romance novel? Luna, he's already all about you," Ginny said, laughing. Luna smiled as her face lit up. "What about you, G? Anything new with Harry?" I say.
"Yeah, actually. He and I talked the other day. About random things. He's pretty funny, actually. I think he and I are almost there. Hopefully..." she says.
"Hey. I'm sure you two will end up together. It's meant to be," I mocked jokingly. The three of us laughed. "What about you, Y/n? Anyone got your eye?" Luna asked. I nervously laughed.
"No, actually. No one," I say. Luna and Ginny both raised their brows, knowing I was lying. "Guys! Seriously, no one's caught my attention yet. If someone did, I'd tell you," I said. "Mhmm..." Ginny said.
"Alright well, I'm going to go get another drink," Ginny said. "I want to come, too," Luna said standing up.
"Do you want anything, Y/n? I can just grab it for you," Ginny offered. I shook my head.
I stayed on the couch and watched the people dancing. There was Harry, Ron, Fred and George doing god knows what. It was entertaining to watch them really.
Just then a guy approached me. "Hey there, beautiful. What are you doing here all alone?" He asked. I started to feel really uncomfortable and really wanted Ginny and Luna to come back.
He attempted to sit down next to me but I stopped him. "Um, actually, this seat's taken, sorry," I say. He nodded. "Hm, okay. Well, do you think maybe I can take you ou—"
"BABE! I've been looking everywhere for you!"
I jumped, not expecting anyone to come from behind me. I look to my right, only to see Draco jumping over the couch with a drink in his hand and sitting right next to me. He draped his arm over my shoulder.
I looked at him weirdly, wondering what he was doing. "Just follow along," he mumbled. I didn't know what to do, but I just did as he said. "Just here on the couch...babe," I say.
I scooted in closer to him, enough for me to lay my head right on him. "Oh, I see," the guy said. "Yeah, move along, asshole," Draco sneered. We both watched as the guy walked away.
I parted away from him and we both looked at each other and laughed. "Hey, thanks for that, Malfoy. He was really weird," I said. He looked over at the guy again.
"Yeah, he is pretty weird. He hit on one of the other girls, too, I don't even know why he's here. No one ever wants to invite him for this reason," he says.
He looked right back at me. "Hey. If he comes back, let him know you're dating me. He's afraid of my father. And..." he says.
I look at him in the eyes, wondering what he wanted to say. "And, only if you're up for it, we don't have to pretend," he said. He gave me a slight grin and patted me on the shoulder. "You just let me know."
He got up and walked away to join his friends again.
Ginny and Luna came back and quickly sat down. "You liar! I knew it! I knew it was Malfoy, why didn't you tell us?!" Ginny said. "Hey! It wasn't real, guys. Some guy came over and he just helped me out a little..." I say.
"There's something else, isn't there?" Luna said. "And he asked me out," I say. Ginny and Luna geeked out a little. "Okay, but I don't know just yet, okay? It's still a maybe for me," I say.
"That's not a no! That's not a no!" Ginny said.
"Fine. I'll say yes if Luna goes for Rolf and you go for Harry," I said. They both nodded excitedly. "Deal," Luna said.
