"I can't believe we got away with that!", I yell at the laughter as a disoriented Harry climbs from under my bed.
"I know, right!", he yells back as he drops himself to my bed once again.
Harry Styles
The rest of the day went by pretty quickly. I sneaked out of Louis' room, just like any other morning and I went home to get ready for school. That awkward moment of coming out of my room and pretending like I slept there all night and just woke up is my least favorite time of the day 'cause I hate lying to my mom.
Dad has moved out into a smaller apartment, about 2 months ago. He already asked me and Gemma to come over and visit him multiple times, but neither of us is ready for the confrontation yet. Who knows, we might never be.
Mom's clearly having a rough time going through all of this and so is Gemma. I'm too of course, but having Louis, means a lot more than he might think.
I got ready for school and Taylor picked me up, I'm so grateful for the fact that we could be friends again. In the beginning, it was a little awkward, but now everything's just like it used to be.
Once I got to school, Louis greeted me (which involved a lot of kissing) like he hadn't seen me in months, I laughed at him, but wasn't complaining. My cheeks started to blush a little, though. I still wasn't entirely used to the whole soggy situation, but I loved it.
In third period, I convinced the entire class to sing 'Happy Birthday' with me, just to be able to see the embarrassment on Lou's face. It was 100% worth it. Afterward, I did get a dirty look telling me 'Oh but this ain't over', I just laughed at him.
After school, we walked home together and normally I'd follow him into his house and spend my entire night there, but now I had to come up with an excuse.
"Euhm, I'm not feeling very well. I think I'm just gonna head home and have an early night, if that's alright with ya?", I ask him with a slight tremble in my voice.
Fuck, I was bad at lying.
"On my birthday and on Christmas Eve??", Louis asks while pouting his lip in an overdramatic way.
"That's the same thing, idiot. But I'm sorry, I-", I start to explain, but Louis interrupts.
"Babe, it's okay. If you want to go home, then go home. Just know I'll miss you and you're always welcome", he ends his sentence by briefly pecking my lips.
"Thank you", I answer and force a quick smile.
We part ways and wave goodbye. I continue walking for about 200 more feet until I spot a big oak tree on my right. I sprint over to it and slam my back against its trunk.
I wait for about a minute before I dare to take a peak. All I see is an empty lane and some silent villas along with it. My heart is racing like I'm just about to commit a serious crime, all I can do is laugh nervously. I wait for another minute, just to be sure he's gone and then I walk in the direction, I just saw Louis leave.
