A/N SO I KNOW THAT DORA GOES TO SCHOOL EARLY AND GRADUATES EARLY, BUT I'M NEEDING TO REPAIR THE TIMELINE. JUST GO WITH IT, PLEASE. AND HOLY HELL IF YOU GET THE REFERENCE IN THE BEGINNING OF 1985, I LOVE YOU. SO MUCH. LIKE, MARRY ME.

1984

June 17th.

"I'm gonna miss you, Abs," Sirius muses as they sit on his desk after her N.E.W.T.s. "You're a bloody disruption, but you're the best disruption I could've asked for."

Abby wrinkles her nose, "Ew. Cheesy. Feelings. Testosterone. Teacher. Gross."

"Abby?"

"Yes, Sirius?"

"I was there for your baby naming, d'you know? I know that Annalee's your first cousin," Sirius comes clean. "I mean, I was seven years-old, but that was the first time I met her outside of the annual Malfoy Ball."

Abby sighs. "It was a long time ago that my mum and dad were close with the Fawleys."

Sirius throws his arm around her, letting her rest her head on his shoulder.

"It's been years now, Abs, since I've even talked to her. That doesn't mean I don't still hear her voice in my head and her hands on mine and her lips-"

"-Yeah, yeah," Abby interrupts. "Too much."

Sirius raises his hands up innocently. "I'm only twenty-four, don't forget."

"I do. You look old," Abby teases.

"Rude and just blatantly wrong. I am gorgeous," Sirius says in an almost bored tone.

Abby rolls her eyes, "I'm better looking."

"Ten sickles says I can get more people to tell me I'm better," Sirius bets.

"Sirius!" Remus's aghast voice comes from the doorway. "She is a student, you are a teacher."

Sirius's mouth drops open. "She bloody lives with us, Moony. Plus, she graduated! And, I am better looking. Tell her!"

With a grin, Remus turns to Abby who's waiting with a knowing look on her face.

"We both know the prettier one in the room," Remus says in a gentle, teasing tone.

"Yeah. Me," the two say in unison.

Remus sighs, "I give up," and walks out.

"Sucker," Sirius sympathizes.

"Absolute wanker," Abby agrees.

Sirius shrugs, "He's just blind."

"I feel for him."

In synchrony, the two say, "I mean, I'm obviously more attractive."

An audible groan is heard outside the hall from Remus, causing them to burst out laughing.

"We're the best," Abby determines.

"Hell, yes, we are," Sirius agrees. "But Moony's a close second."

"But, like, goodly far, right?"

Sirius considers this. "I'd say, if this were a triathlon, when we finished, everyone else would still be on the swimming part, but Moony would be in the mid-to-late portion of the cycling."

Abby nods in agreement, "Matty's just, like, half a second behind him. Speaking of, I'd better get to the Gryffindor party."

"Have fun. But not too-"

"-Not too much fun, yeah, yeah, I know," Abby says reluctantly, hopping off the desk and walking out of the room.

Sirius is left smiling like a fucking idiot.
