A/N Some of the below is direct quotes from Harry Potter. I'm sure you can figure out which parts.
July 22nd, 1993.
"Minister?" Annalee calls out politely, startling him. "May I please see your newspaper?"
Bellatrix begins, "To see those fil-"
"Shut the fuck up, Bella," Anna drones, then turns back to the Minister. "Please?"
Cornelius Fudge shrugs, "I don't see how it could hurt," and tosses her the paper.
There, looking straight at the camera from a boy's arms who she recognizes from a very long time ago, is Peter Pettigrew, as Wormtail.
The next morning, Annalee makes do on her promise to Bella from so many years ago and punches her across the face while she's sleeping. Anna transforms into Goldie for the first time in five years, squeezes out of the bars of the cell, gallops out of the prison, and apparates with the last bit of her energy right outside the place she always knows to be safe.
Or rather, who she always knows to be safe.
She knocks on the door, making sure to do a spell to repair her features and straighten/wash her hair.
"May I help you?" a strange woman asks.
Anna nods, surprised. "I'm looking for Jay?"
"Jason?" she yells back into the house. "You have a visitor!"
"Who is it?" Jay calls back.
The woman asks for a name.
"Annie," Anna replies uneasily. "But please don't yell that, would you?"
"Lydia," the woman introduces. "Come on in."
Jay comes down, mouth dropping wide open at Anna.
"Oh, lordy, Anna, I missed you," he exclaims, hugging her tightly. "You're so thin, what have you been eating?"
"Jay!" Lydia exclaims. "That's not appropriate."
Anna chuckles, "Oh, it's quite alright. I used to be quite the heartbreaker back in the day. We dated for a while." At Lydia's slightly taken aback face, Anna quickly adds, "Don't worry, I'm married now. Er, at least, I think."
"Sirius seemed very angry when I spoke to him. I didn't believe him when he said the things he though you'd done," he admits.
Anna runs a hand through her hair. "Hehe, yeah. So yeah, I didn't actually do it, but they don't know that. I'm sort of... out of prison as of early this morning?"
"Prison?" Lydia exclaims.
"I'm one of the good guys, I promise. I went to jail covering for Sirius, my husband. Of course, Sirius doesn't know that otherwise he never would've lived his life. Now, I'm now going to set up this anti-trace, also known as a concealment charm," Anna explains slowly, while waving her hand around and light swirls around.
Jay and Lydia's mouths drop open.
"What's happening, Annie?" Jay asks cautiously.
"I'm about to tell you something that won't leave this room. That's not a request, that's not a promise, that's not a demand. It's a fact. I'm a witch. I can do magic. The school I went to was actually called Hogwarts and it was for Witchcraft and Wizardry. Even though I think it's totally stupid that we don't include any other genders other than male and female. The War I fought in was against a dark wizard named Voldemort, but he's gone for now. He had an odd fixation with me and did everything he could to hurt me or try and recruit me to his side. He killed muggles, our world for non-magic peoples, because he thought you were taking over the world. Part of the reason I broke up with you in the first place was because Tom threatened you. Questions?'
