Evie's P.O.V.

I take a quick sip from my coffee before stuffing my mouth with bacon that my sweet mate places in front of me. I clutch to my robe as the cold temperature starts to seep through my skin. The fact that I am only in my undies inside this silk robe is not helping a bit to warm me up. My palms encircle my cup of coffee to help me fight off the cold. A hum of approval escapes my lips while munching the juicy bacon, enjoying the tasty brunch for myself.

The day is awfully slow, but I love every bit of it. My mate places two other plates in front of me consists of garlic bread and ham slices. I raise my eyes on him as he leans down and puts a kiss on the side of my lips before occupying the seat beside me.

We spent the morning inside his lavish bathroom, pleasuring each other and enjoying the sweet sinful moments without shame. When we left the room, I was starving as hell, and my mate volunteered to cook for us—a super late brunch.

"I'm glad you are loving the food." He said as he starts to eat what's on his plate. "I'm curious, Evie. I want to know more about you."

Tinaasan ko ito ng kilay. "I thought you already sent someone to investigate about me."

My mate's lips lift into a grin, sending goosebumps all over my body. I silently curse myself for acting like a bitch in heat who can't get enough of her mate. We just did it multiple times, not more than an hour ago. I squirm in my seat and take another sip of my coffee to cover up the lust that suddenly engulfs me out of nowhere.

"I did. But I didn't allow them to dig in anything too personal. I do want to hear it from you. Once you are comfortable talking about it to me." He replied.

My eyes focus on his face, wondering what kind of people raised him. I want to give kudos to his parents. They raised a well-mannered man that makes me question more than half of the men's population. This guy is so sweet, too sweet, and too respectful for my likings. Or maybe he's not really that respectful because I did remember him kidnapping me.

"For someone who stalked and kidnapped someone, you are too civilize," I told him.

My mate lets out a soft laugh. "You left me with no choice. You are so hard to come by with. I tried several times to get close to you the normal way, but your brothers are not making it easy for me."

Kumunot ang noo ko rito. "What do you mean?"

"Nothing." Ibinalik nito ang atensyon sa pagkain niya.

"C'mon! What did my brothers' do?"

His eyes never left his plate, as if he is intentionally avoiding my eyes. For the past three months that we've been away from each other, I didn't once know that he did something to approach me. I thought he's already forgotten about me, and he is back in his normal life in Ailhelm. After all, what happened to us is just a casual one-night stand.

"I sent you flowers and cards to invite you for dinner multiple times." Sa wakas ay pagkukwento nito. He lets out an uneasy smile. "Your club prospect keeps on throwing it away. And one time I got tired of it, and I tried to visit one of your brother's clubs where you usually hang out." He takes a sip of his tea, purposely avoiding my eyes in the process.

"What happened then?" Pagpipilit ko rito. I'm always in one particular club. However, probably on the night he visited, I am either in my house or on the farm busy attending some business matters.

"They play a prank on me, putting me in a cage to fight one of the prospects." The uncomfortable look on his face makes me laugh. I have no idea he tried to get close to me. What the heck?

Henry rolls his eyes at me. "See, this is why I don't want you to know about it. It's not even funny. I get home that night with a black eye and wounded ego. Your brothers are ruthless."
