Chapter 5

Evie's P.O.V.

A loud bang echoed in the silence of that pine forest, disturbing all of the animals that lived nearby. From a distance, I can hear the ravens flapping as they fly away to escape the apparent danger. The side of my lips lifts into a smirk. I put down the gun on the ground to take a clear look at my target.

"You are so good at this." My mate said from behind me. "If my grandfather is alive, I'm sure he'll love you."

I look over my shoulder and meet his gaze. There's a proud smile painted on his lips while looking at my kill. A deer lies severely injured, meters away from us.

Napailing na lang ako sa sinabi nito.

"Fine with me. I prefer older man anyway." I stand up from the ground and put the strap of the gun on my shoulder. I walk towards my kill with a satisfied smile on my lips. Its red crimson blood stains the white powdered snow. A perfect hint of chaos amid the tranquility of the winter.

"What I mean is he'll approve of you for me. Not for himself." He tsk. "You and your daddy issues."

Sa sinabi niyang iyon ay napalingon ako sa kanya. Ngumisi ako rito.

"What? Scared that I might leave you for someone older?" I taunted.

"I'm much older than you. And richer too." Humakbang ito palapit sa akin at saka hinapit ang bewang ko. "Can't you see, sweetheart? I'm all you need, and you're not going anywhere." He places a soft kiss on my neck.

Bahagya ko itong itinulak at saka inirapan.

"I'll wait here. Get the jeep." I told him and take a seat right beside my kill.

"Sure." He stole a kiss on my cheeks before turning his back on me and take a stride towards where we left our jeep.

Wala sa loob na sinundan ko ito ng tingin. So far, I am enjoying the game that we are playing, and there are times when I wish we can be like this forever. But I know that's a hopeless wish. Once we leave this place, we are set to part ways. No matter what we do, I am not fit in his world, as he is in mine. I told myself that I'd enjoy it until it last. I'll just bleed after. I'm fine with it.

Once he is out of my line of sight, I turn my eyes on the deer. It let out a whimper when it feels my gaze. It's still alive but barely breathing. It'll die after a few minutes. I tap its head and sigh.

"Sorry buddy, it's just happened that you're the prey, and I'm the hunter. Food chain, you know." Pagkausap ko rito.

As a werewolf, I will always love that adrenaline rush hunting for food can give me. But as a skilled sniper, shooting a gun does it for me. In the forest, during hunting season, I hunt for trophies and food. It's a tradition that I'm pretty sure more of the people in the west are acquainted too.

After a few minutes more, I notice the beast beside me already stop breathing. Then I hear the sound of the engine of the car moving towards my direction. Huminto ang jeep sa harap ko at bumaba si Henry mula roon. Pinagtulungan naming ikarga ang deer sa likod ng sasakyan.

Ilang saglit pa ay sakay na kami ng sasakyan pauwi. The afternoon sun is slightly peeking a bit through the thick winter clouds, creating that soft golden rays in contrast to the blue sky. I lean back on my seat and close my eyes for a bit. This day is tiring as usual. The weather finally gave way, giving us time to get out of his mansion and enjoy the outdoors.

Once we arrived one his mansion, one of his butlers welcomed us and instructed some people to take care of the deer. I guess we will be having venison for dinner. I make my way inside the mansion while Henry follows me from behind.

Agad kong tinungo ang silid namin upang makapagpunas. I feel all dusty and sweaty despite the thick clothing that I am wearing. Henry, on the other hand, makes his way to his laptop to probably check on his business or something.

I strip all of my clothes and make myself comfortable in the jacuzzi, allowing the warm water to calm my nerves. The scent of the lavender coming off the candle makes me feel at ease. The luxury, the peacefulness, and the lavish lifestyle. I close my eyes and let go of all my thoughts. I can get used to this. Old money has a different vibe than new money. Henry is a perfect definition of it.

Idinilat ko ang mga mata ko ng makaramdam ng presensya sa loob ng banyo liban sa akin. My eyes meet my mate's piercing one. He is already starting to strip off all his clothes. I take the liberty to watch him take off his clothes one after another. I didn't even bother hiding the lust that engulfs me while gawking at his well-toned body.

He closes our distance in few strides and takes the spot behind me, putting me between his thighs. His large frame fits mine so perfectly. Sumandal ako sa dibdib nito. I wish I can keep him forever.

A hopeless wish.

I feel his hand on the side of my breast as he gently kneads and massages it up to the side of my neck. I moan in satisfaction while his hands work their magic in my tense shoulder.

"You're a keeper, do you know that." I turn around to face him and smile.

"And so are you, sweetheart." He dips his head down for a short kiss.

I can feel the inside of my stomach starts to heat up, and my inner thighs are demanding for my mate's attention. I try to reach for his manhood under the water, but Henry is quick to catch for my wrist before I can go further.

"What now?" I hissed at him like a kitten who's been refused to have a nip.

"Horny," He lets out a chuckle at my frustrated reaction. "I love it." He takes my hand and puts a soft kiss on my wrists.

That simple gestures from him is enough to melt my heart away. Iniwas ko ang mga mata rito ng maramdaman ko ang pamumula ng pisngi ko. But that simple action didn't go unnoticed to my mate.

"Hey, is my fierce biker's club girl blushing?" He taunted. "Now, that's something you can't see every day."

Inis na hinampas ko ito sa dibdib dahilan upang lalo itong matawa. I turn my back on him and just I am about to leave the jacuzzi when I feel his hand on my waist.

"Let go." I hissed at him. I don't like him, and this feeling that's starting to grow on me. I don't feel like myself whenever I'm with him. And I can't decide if it is for a good or a bad thing.

It's a bad thing. Really, really bad thing.

"My mom is here for dinner." He said out of nowhere, making me freeze right on my spot.

"The countess?" Wala sa loob na tanong ko.

"Yep, the countess." Henry lets out a soft laugh upon sensing my sudden anxiety.

I turn around, only to meet his eyes gleaming with amusement. He finds my demise amusing? Tinaasan ko ito ng kilay.

"I can't be here then." Damn it! I am fearless, but now the thought of meeting my mate's mother wants me to run away as far as I can. I'm not really good with in-laws. Remembering how Clara's father dislikes Jacob gives me crippling anxiety.

"Why not?"

I point myself with visible fear in my eyes.

"Because I am not fitted for you." I brush my fingers along my soft wet locks. "She won't like me."

Henry is quick to pull me close to him, capturing my lips in a fierce and possessive kiss. It is as if he wants to drown out all of the doubts inside my chest. And seems working. Parehas kaming hinihingal ng pawalan nito ang labi ko.

"She'll love you. You are perfect and an amazing woman. Stop over-thinking." He told me with his fingers stroking on the side of my cheeks.

Napilitan akong tumango rito. Henry dips down, capturing my lips in another thigh-clenching kiss. My palms found his shoulder as I grip so tightly on it. I'm afraid. I'm afraid for this game to end.
