Evie's P.O.V.

"Where exactly are we?" Kunot noong tanong ko kay Henry habang kipkip ang jacket sa katawan ko.

The snow has been unforgiving in the past two days that we've been here. The place looks magical as if the winter fairy came to visit to bless the land, but I'm starting to get bored. And I miss the humid atmosphere in Saeree. That little town might be not much to others, but it was home.

"In the south of Hager." He replied without removing his eyes from the tablet he is holding. He's scrolling on the device and checking on it every once in a while to check for business updates and news.

I walk towards the open terrace and take a view of the breathtaking mountains that surrounds this mansion. There are hundreds if not thousands of pines in the distance. The ground that is covered with snow makes me want to get out for a bit and let my wolf go wild. I know my wolf will enjoy roaming around this place.

"Bored?"

My eyes dart back to my mate, who's now looking at me. The tablet he was holding a while ago is now lying flat on the table.

I let out a heave and nod at him. Staying inside his mansion makes me feel stuck and irritated. I'm not used to this kind of life. It's too peaceful. I'm looking for something. I need to burn off some adrenaline.

My mate stands up from his chair and walks towards me with an attractive smile on his lips. "You know what, I think I have exactly what you need."

Tinaasan ko ito ng kilay. The enthusiasm in his voice makes me think he is some kind of child who manages to think of a bright idea. My eyes narrow into slits while giving him a questioning look. "I swear to heaven. It better be not an afternoon tea, or else I'm going to have a teacup smash on your face."

He lets out a soft laugh and reaches out for my wrist. "Sweetheart, you make me sound as if I am the most boring person you know."

"You are boring." I retorted, allowing him to pull me to who knows where.

"I'm not boring. I have a peaceful and luxurious life, far from what you used to."

"Exactly, boring."

He pulls me towards a staircase that, if I'm not wrong, will lead us to the basement of the mansion. Nagsalubong ang kilay ko rito. Where is he exactly plan on taking me? Ilang saglit pa ay bumungad sa akin ang isang silid na puno ng targets at sa isang sulok ay may ilang pirasong baril ang nakadisplay.

"What is this place?" Kunot noong tanong ko rito habang inililibot ang tingin sa paligid. The wall is decorated with headpieces of different kinds of animals. In one of the displays, there's a head of a dead wolf that was preserved to perfection. It makes me cringe.

"My late grandfather takes pride in his hunting skills. Back when he was still alive, he spent every weekend in this mansion to play. The forest is his playground." Wika nito. "I know you love your guns, but I can't really allow you to bring one with us here."

Humakbang ako palapit mga nakalatag na baril sa isang bahagi ng silid. I hold my breath while touching the piece with my fingers, feeling the cold metal against my warm skin.

A smile break on my lips. "Sorry to say this, but your old man is much cooler than you are." I teased him, earning me an amused chuckle.

"I know." He admitted and walked towards me. He picks up one of the shotguns and points towards one of the targets inside the room. "I plan on taking you for hunting. However, the weather is being an ass this past few days."

Napangiti ako sa sinabi nito. I walk towards him and correct his posture, pushing the gun a little bit to be in line with the target. He gives me an odd look.
